While these were the only programs I saw, the amount of talent on display was still at a high level. Here are Wisconsin’s top players from the Grassroots Showcase.
Leon Bond Leon Bond 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa East | 2022 State #62 Nation WI (2022) JH1 Elite 6-5 SF
Overwhelmingly athletic and talented. Freakish athleticism. Only 6-5 but backed a guy straight down with ease due to his length and athleticism. Found himself on the receiving end of some alley-oops. Clearly a D1 prospect as Marquette among other schools were in attendance to watch him play.
Seamus Crahan (2023) WI Swing 6-4 PF
Communicates defensively which was rare for the weekend. Very unselfish which was a theme with this WI Swing team. Liked how he moved on the offensive end to find the right places. Midrange shooting looks solid and he is confident taking the shot over defenders.
Calan Krohn (2022) JH1 Elite 6-7 PF
Really liked his combination of size and skillset. Does his role which was set guys up with good passing and set solid ball screens. Really excelled in pick-and-roll situations. Made plays over defenders due to that length and playmaking.
Mason Marggi (2023) WI Swing 5-11 PG
Fundamentally solid player. Makes the right plays on the defensive end. High hands defensively and on closeouts. Contests the multiple shooters he faced. Multi-level scorer on the offensive end. Very good chance to play next level especially if he continues to grow.
Tre Miller (2023) WI Swing
True shooting threat. Works his tail off and makes hustle plays. One key play was a missed shot he had and he was the first guy back on defense contesting at the rim. Moves well without the ball and looks to set screens and set guys up. There is some concern with his size at 5-8, but only being a junior there’s time for him to grow.
