Prospects are preparing themselves for a big month of July as it provides them a final opportunity to play in front of coaches before the start of the new school year. Here are the top dynamic duos set to have a big month.
Zion Cruz Zion Cruz 6'4" | SG Patrick School | 2022 #26 Nation CA-S & Will Richardson Will Richardson 6'2" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2022 State #76 Nation NJ , PSA Cardinals 17U
It’s not surprising to see Cruz and Richardson at the top of the list as the PSA Cardinal teammates are set to have a strong Peach Jam. The former is an athletic combo guard as Cruz excels at getting into the lane and finishing around the rim. Richardson has a tight handle, which he uses to break down his defender, but can also knock down jumpers from distance. Both guards are capable of running the offense and are good rebounders. EYBL teams are going to have to gear up their guards to stop both Cruz and Richardson from making plays once they get into the lane.
Dajuan Wagner Jr Dajuan Wagner Jr 6'4" | PG Camden | 2023 State #1 Nation NJ & Mackenzie Mgbako Mackenzie Mgbako 6'8" | SF Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #5 Nation NJ , NJ Scholars 17U
The top two prospects in the class of 2023 may be playing a grade up, but that should not stop them from making their mark at their first Peach Jam. Wagner Jr is a natural scorer as he can score at all three levels and shoots the ball with confidence from deep. Mgbako is the perfect compliment to him on the wing as he can put the ball on the floor, shoot the ball from deep and draw contact on his way to the rim. Wagner Jr. and Mgbako are a special duo that are set to dominate Peach Jam.
Dylan Harper Dylan Harper 6'6" | SG Don Bosco Prep | 2024 State #3 Nation NJ & TJ Robinson TJ Robinson 6'3" | SG Immaculate Conception | 2024 State #163 Nation NJ , NJ Legacy 15U
Harper and Robinson are a high scoring back court that should make some noise in July. The former has a nice release on his jumper, but can also get to the basket and finish. Robinson wastes little motion in his jumper and is capable of knocking down triples in bunches. They play off each other well as Robinson runs the offense, while Harper finds ways to get open off the ball. Harper and Robinson will be a hard duo to stop as they look to lead NJ Legacy this month.
Scotty Middleton Scotty Middleton 6'7" | SF Sunrise Christian | 2023 #50 Nation KS & Tyler Bey Tyler Bey 6'9" | SF Fairfax | 2023 #177 Nation CA-S , NY Rens 16U
The Rens are loaded with talent from top to bottom and the wing duo of Middleton and Bey should put their talents on display at Peach Jam. The former is a two-way wing as Middleton is a good on-ball defender who is at his best attacking the basket from the perimeter. Bey has a nice handle, which he uses to get into the lane to draw contact. Both players can also knock down jumpers from the perimeter and have shown the ability to bring the ball up. Middleton and Bey are a talented wing duo who should take Peach Jam by storm.
Ben Roy Ben Roy 6'2" | PG Manasquan | 2022 State #218 Nation NJ & Sean Logan Sean Logan 6'10" | PF Westfield | 2022 State NJ , Team Rio University 17U
Team Rio University 17U had a strong opening weekend in Atlanta for the UAA circuit and Roy and Logan were a big reason why. Roy is not fazed by on-ball pressure as he uses his tight handle to get by his defender and make plays in the lane. Logan is a lanky stretch four whose range extends past the three-point line and challenges everything around the rim. He runs the floor extremely well, which helps Team Rio University score easy baskets in transition. Roy and Logan make winning plays throughout the course of games, which will help Team Rio University throughout the month.
