Some of those players are the newcomers in the Prep Hoops Louisiana 2023 class. Whether they hit the floor during the live period or not, the players in this piece are newcomers that should be followed throughout the summer and next season.
Kamron Coleman Kamron Coleman 6'8" | PF Wossman | 2023 State LA (6’7″ / PF / Wossman / OVR #12)
One of the players in north Louisiana who has a ton of promise in reference to playing on the next level. During team camp and summer league sessions and Airline and Neville, Coleman displayed the ability to block shots when defending one-on-one and providing help as the off defender. He also showed composure and maturity playing through some unwarranted contact. Coleman can run the floor, finish in transition, and score on rebound putbacks. His upside deserved a top 15 spot and may find him in the top 10 before long.
Reece Seicshnaydre Reece Seicshnaydre 6'3" | CG St. Paul's | 2023 State LA (6’3″ / CG / St. Paul’s / OVR #33)
St. Paul’s just competed during the Summer Classic in New Orleans and did well finishing second to Carver. One of the reason why they advanced so far was the play of Reece Seicshnaydre Reece Seicshnaydre 6'3" | CG St. Paul's | 2023 State LA . He is a player who helps St. Paul’s because he can attack a defense in multiple ways. On one possession he can cut to the basket for a backdoor layup. Then, he can play point guard and facilitate the offense for a score. Next, he may curl off of a screen for a three. Seicshnaydre is a multi-talented player who is only going to get better. He is a newcomer on the rise.
Edward Kornbacher Edward Kornbacher 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2023 State LA (6’7″ / PF / Liberty / OVR #34)
Liberty will be a threat to the Division II championship next season. Rankings newcomer Edward Kornbacher Edward Kornbacher 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2023 State LA will be one of the reasons why. Kornbacher is a 6’7″ specimen who is good at finishing around the rim. He can power up for one-handed finishes and catches pretty much anything thrown to him in the paint. Kornbacher is good on the break as well and has no issues when it comes to finishing. He has been known to spot up from three as well. Look for Kornbacher to give Liberty an inside presence when the new season rolls around.
Derwin Ancar Derwin Ancar 6'2" | SG Phoenix | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / SG / Phoenix / OVR #35)
Ancar has been one of the more exciting players with LivOn Fleur-de-Lis after his high school season at Phoenix. He is a high flyer who attacks the rim with a ferociousness not a lot of players have on the high school level. Ancar is very good in the open floor and can make the easy or highlight worthy play. His offensive skill will make him a threat anywhere on the floor for Phoenix next season. Ancar is another rankings newcomer who has the potential to be one of top tier players in the state.
Brian Williams Brian Williams 6'3" | SF Benton | 2023 LA (6’5″ / SF / Benton / OVR #59)
Players with multi-layered skill sets are coveted in today’s game. Brian Williams Brian Williams 6'3" | SF Benton | 2023 LA from Benton is one of those players. He is a good screener for perimeter players, he does not mind rebounding or doing the dirty work in the paint, and he can score from inside and out. When he gets the ball on the block or on the perimeter, he is decisive with his passes or which shot he will take. He has good energy when he is on the floor and always tries to make the right play. Williams begins in the rankings in the middle of the pack but has potential to end much higher.

Colby O’glee Colby O’glee 5'11" | PG Airline | 2023 State LA (5’11″ / PG / Airline) – point guard who can light it up from deep; tough defender
Jamil Brooks Jamil Brooks 6'2" | SG Woodlawn-Shreveport | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / SG / Univer / Woodlawn-Shreveport) – skilled wing who will also bang in the paint; excellent in press situations
The class of 2023 has loads of talent from the top to the bottom of the rankings. If any of these newcomers are playing during the live period, they will be players to keep an eye on.
