Armani Middlebrooks (F/Westfield/Grand Park Premier 2024)
Middlebrooks was one of the best 2024’s I saw all weekend. He is a stocky forward who can play both on the perimeter and on the block. He has good ball handling ability and solid footwork that allows him to get into the lane off of the dribble. He is a very fluid athlete who can finish at the rim through contact and around length. He showed the ability to lead the break as well and make good decisions when needed. Though it wasn’t needed most of the weekend, he showed he can step out and hit 3’s with a good stroke.
Samson Dickens (SF/Noblesville/Grand Park Premier 2024)
The first thing that stands out about Dickens is his length and size. It is tremendous for a 2024 prospect and he utilizes that in every part of his game. He was one of the most athletic players in the class that I saw over the weekend and was very good in the open floor. He is a good slasher and can be used in ball screens to find a mismatch with the defense due to his solid ball handling ability. Shooting is still becoming more consistent and at this point, he is never forced into taking a jumper. He does like to utilize a few dribble mid-range jumper at times, but there is rarely a time the defense keeps him from getting into the lane or to the rim.
Rob Sorensen (CG/Bishop Chatard/Indiana Elite – Kyle Guy)
Sorensen has a good frame for a combo guard and has great speed and quickness on the ball. He can play both with the ball in his hands as well as off of the ball. The first thing that stands out is his shooting ability. He has a very good stroke for his age and can create for himself off of the bounce. He was also used in many off-ball screens to free him up and he does a good job reading the defender and creating space off of the screen. His ball handling is solid and he has good vision to get the offense going.
Scotty Semler (PG/Bishop Chatard/Indiana Elite – Kyle Guy)
Semler was one of the more impressive lead guards of the weekend. He has solid size and length at the position and is very confident on the floor. He’s a super smart player and excels at getting his teammates good looks and getting the offense in sets. Showed the ability to knock down a few shots from the outside, but he is definitely more of a driver right now and loves to create contact at the rim. He can drive a bit too deep at times but usually knows where his open teammates are if he gets into trouble.
Albert Schwartz (C/Central Catholic/Indiana Ice)
Schwartz is a big body and has a very well put together frame for his age. He also has good size and knows how to use it. He sees most of his action around the basket and he has great touch and feel around the rim. He does a great job at keeping the ball high and not bringing it down to his knees for smaller defenders to disrupt. Always has good effort on the glass. Though it’s not fully part of his game yet, he showed the ability to go off of the dribble and uses long strides to get to the basket.
David Streitmatter David Streitmatter 6'0" | PG Faith Christian | 2024 IN (PG/Faith Christian/Indiana Ice)
Streitmatter was another very solid point guard in the event. He has a solid frame on him that allows him to get into the lane and finish through contact. He didn’t take too many long distance jumpers in the games I saw, but he was extremely effective in the mid-range game utilizing a floater or jumper. He has a really strong ball handling ability and a quick first step. Solid playmaker as well, but he can force the issue at times.
