Tre Mickens – 6’4 SF – Southport – Indiana Elite Blaze Select 2022: Mickens is a taller forward that plays hard. Listed as a wing but mixed it up in the paint a ton here. He went up for nearly every rebound on both ends and gave his team a couple of second chance points. Has a pretty smooth 15fter but was not super consistent behind the arc. Love his strength but may need to approve his overall speed just a tad. Very tough player that has some upside.
Grant Winters – 6’1 SF – Danville – Grand Park Premier 2022 Silver: Winters is a shorter but lanky wing. Has a little smoothness to his offense and is very active all over the floor. Shot the ball well from behind the arc, especially off the catch. Solid first step and drove well through contact and even converted an And1. Needs to add size and strength but does have the skill to compete right now.
James Greer – 6’7 PF – Decatur Central – Indy Nets Basketball 2022 Elite: Greer is a tall 4 that has natural strength and athleticism. Stuck primarily in the post and did a great job of snagging rebounds and finished fairly well when attempting to give his team second chance points. Still a little raw at times but just seems he overthinks sometimes. I think long term he could be a legit post defender just on his size, strength, and athleticism alone. He has the tools to be molded into skilled, consistent big man.
Cameron Karns Cameron Karns 6'6" | PF Noblesville | 2022 IN – 6’6 SF/PF – Noblesville – Indy Nets Basketball 2022 Elite: Karns is a taller forward that has speed and a high motor. Pretty powerful and explosive player and showcases that on both ends. Shot a few jumpers here and it seemed like with every missed shot he had he was always the first one to go after the ball. Set a good amount of screens for the ball handler but needs to work on rolling better to the basket. Still needs to fine tune a couple of things but Karns has potential to play at that next level.
Samuel Ridgeway Samuel Ridgeway 6'8" | PF Tipton | 2022 State IN – 6’7 PF – Tipton – Indiana Elite Swish 2022: Ridgeway is a taller post that is so strong and athletic. Pretty skillful player on both ends and was one of the best rebounders I had seen all day. On offense he provides a few options as he can score in the post, even had a few monster slams, and seemed to be automatic with his 15ft baseline jumper. Has shot blocking ability and I think long term he could be a lockdown post defender. Still may be just a little bit raw but there is a ton of upside in this powerhouse.
Eli Edwards Eli Edwards 6'6" | PF Northwestern | 2022 State IN – 6’6 PF – Northwestern – Indiana Elite Swish 2022: Edwards is a big post that has very solid footwork and fundamentals. First time I had seen him since the spring and he looked just as good as he did back then. He rebounded so well on both ends and looked a ton quicker with his post moves and was finishing consistently. Guarded the post very well also and made it hard for the smaller guards to score down there. Overall, just was real impressed with how smart of a big man Edwards is and think he can be a very reliable 4 at the next level.
Baylin Graf Baylin Graf 6'4" | SF Bloomfield | 2022 State IN – 6’4 SF – Bloomfield – Southwest Rebels: Graf is a bigger and strong wing. Very balanced game on both ends and was just flat out hustling each and every play. Defense was aggressive and even had a couple of nice steals. Shot the ball well off the catch behind the arc and mixed it up inside a little bit. Graf is not the most electric wing out there as he is more of a grinder that will find ways to contribute on both ends. Tough player overall.
Caleb Crook – 6’2 SF – Logansport – Triple Threat: Crook is a smaller wing that plays with toughness. Natural rebounder on both ends and his smaller size does not factor in with him going up aggressively against the bigger forwards. Mostly stuck around the rim on offense and has a smooth looking hook shot. Did not see much of a jumper so curious to see if he has that in his arsenal. Solid showing from Crook here.
