Several teams and players looked very impressive and caught the eye of scouts and coaches. Here are the 2024 and 2025 players that caught my attention during the weekend.
Addison Barnes-Pettit Addison Barnes-Pettit 6'4" | SF Greensburg | 2024 State IN (2024) – 6’3″ SF – Greensburg
Barnes-Pettit is a wing with a good amount of size. He also played both the post and the wing positions, but he was always looking to get inside the paint. He takes his time and has some good moves around the defenders inside. He is also aggressive when taking it to the hole, but he did start forcing things late in the game. Addison has potential in his game, but I’d like to see him work on his mid-range jumper to give his game another level that the defense has to think about.
Kobe Bowles (2024) – 6’0″ PG – Lawrence North
Bowles is a young guard with good size who played the game pretty well over the weekend. He is a quick guard with a high basketball IQ. He also handles the ball well and can stop on a dime and pull up for a jumper. Bowles knows the game well and could develop into a difference-maker for this inexperienced Lawrence North team.
Donovan Hamilton (2024) – 6’0″ SG – Hamilton Southeastern
Hamilton very well might’ve been the second-best player on the court in their narrow win over Lawrence North. He is a knock-down shooter who played with all of the confidence in the world in this one. He loves the catch and shoot, and he is very consistent with his shot. He could be the best player in the backcourt of this HSE squad, and he is no doubt a player to watch in the future.
Demetrius Jenkins (2024) – 6’2″ SG – Crispus Attucks
Jenkins is a taller guard who played very well off the ball in this one. He is always moving without the ball in his hands, and he cuts into the open spaces consistently. He is also aggressive with the ball in his hands and likes to take it to the hole and finish with either hand. Jenkins didn’t show much of a jumper, but he did show several other bright spots in his game. Overall, he looked good over the weekend.
Bode Judge (2025) – 6’5″ PF – Lapel
Judge is a big, physical presence in the paint, and as a freshman, he is a force to reckon with down low. He not only can bully other players out of the way with his physicality, but he out-hustles his opponents on the boards which led to several easy buckets in their win over Heritage Hills. Hard worker is easily the best word to describe this kid as, and with his size and work ethic, it shouldn’t be long before he has even more muscle and has fine-tuned his skills to be a heck of a player. Lapel is going to have a good one inside for the next 4 years.
Hunter Meredith (2025) – 6’0″ PG – Heritage Hills
Meredith is a smaller point guard, but one who definitely has the skill in his game. The lefty is very aggressive when taking it to the hole, and he is always looking to score when he has it in his hands. He does tend to try and do too much which leads to him getting out of control. These freshman mistakes are ones that he will grow out of, and he should be a key part of this Heritage Hills team in the upcoming years of his career.
Deion Miles Deion Miles 6'0" | PG Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State IN (2024) – 5’11” PG – Hamilton Southeastern
Miles is a smaller, shifty guard who is a very smooth point guard. He sees the floor well and knows where the ball needs to go, but he needs to be much stronger with the ball in his hands. He’s only a sophomore, so he should continue to improve and develop. Watch out for Miles on this young Hamilton Southeastern team.
Ron Rutland III (2024) – 6’1″ SG – Crispus Attucks
Rutland is a smaller shooting guard who should still grow a couple of inches. He knows the game of basketball well and seemed to always know where he needed to be on both ends of the floor. Rutland can also shoot the ball really well, and I don’t think he really missed on the catch and shoot. He also showed a nice runner in the lane. Overall, I was very impressed by the young guard’s scoring ability over the weekend.
Joey Schmitz Joey Schmitz 6'2" | PG Center Grove | 2024 State IN (2024) – 6’0″ PG – Center Grove
Schmitz is another young player who knows the game incredibly well. He is calm with the ball in his hands, and he was always looking to make the right play on the court. He is a good passer, and he can also knock down shots from the outside. I would have liked Schmitz to be a little bit more aggressive at times, but this will come as he gains confidence playing at this level. I think Schmitz is in a good position to succeed on this young Center Grove squad, and he’s going to be a player to watch in the future.
Trent Sisley (2025) – 6’7″ SF – Heritage Hills
Sisley may be the most developed 2025 prospect in the state, and he showed that skill all weekend. At 6’7”, he can handle the ball, shoot it, and drive it. He can jump out of the building, and the size and length for a guy that can play anywhere from the 1 to the 5 make him a nearly impossible matchup. He is only a freshman, so he’s still going to be rough around the edges. He needs to be more physical and protect the ball more, but there is no doubt in my mind that he is the top 2025 player that I have seen so far. Look for him to put up big numbers during all four years of his high school career.
