Let’s take a look at some of the top performers from the 17U Division.
Carolina Ballers 2021 Guard Jayden Chance: A quick Guard that put together some solid performances throughout the event, using his speed and quickness to score the ball at a solid rate. The combination of speed and ballhandling ability allowed him to get to the basket and provide much needed offense for his team.
Coastal Bulls 2022 Guard Christiaan Neely: Another player that was productive on both ends of the floor, he finished #4 in scoring, averaging just under 17 PPG. He gave just as much effort on the defensive end of the floor, causing all types of issues for opponents throughout the event. He would go on to take home the Championship game MVP, scoring a game high of 23 Points while leading his team to a victory.
BTB 2022 Guard Paul Way: Easily one of the best performers of any player in the entire event, he put together one of his best games with a 36 Point performance against Shots United. He’s strong, athletic, skilled and plays the game at his pace regardless of how he’s being defended.
Shots United 2022 Matthew Lemmon: He’s one of those players that can score the ball but he looks to contribute in other ways just as much as he looks to score. Although he dropped a team high of 21 Points in their matchup with BTB, he rebounded and facilitated at a very high level as well which helped his team stay competitive down the stretch.
S2AD 2022 Guard Jamarion Page: One of the better defenders that we got to see at the event he was impressive from start to finish. He has good lateral quickness, quick hands and does a nice job of not gambling on defense for steals. He constantly applied intense pressure which led to forced turnovers for the opposition.
Palmetto Elite 2021 Wing Breon Steele: A raw talent with outstanding athleticism and good height/wingspan for a player at the Guard spot. He has all the tools to be as good as he wants to be and he showed some flashes of talent and potential throughout the weekend on both ends of the floor. Looking to make plays above the rim offensively and using his wingspan to be disruptive on defense, there is plenty to like about the potential of this prospect.
