A solidly built 6-2 wing, Watters is aggressive in attacking the bucket both in halfcourt and in transition, and he uses his strength to finish through contact. He contributes on the glass on both ends of the floor and is a capable and willing passer.
Carsen Theis Carsen Theis 6'1" | SG Des Moines Christian | 2023 State IA | SG | Des Moines Christian (85)
The 6-1 junior-to-be showed some potential throughout the Winterset Shootout as a catch-and-shoot wing. He moves well off the ball and has a quick, smooth release off the catch. He knocked down a number of 3s within the flow of the Lions offense in the pair of viewings that we had.
Aydn Netten Aydn Netten 6'3" | SF Van Meter | 2023 State IA | SF | Van Meter (86)
Netten is a long, 6-3 wing who plays with a bit of an attitude. He’s a tough, versatile defender who also showed the ability to score from all three levels. He played sparingly as a sophomore for the Bulldogs, but I think he will be a bigger piece of the puzzle as a junior given his two-way abilities.
Cole Scheffler Cole Scheffler 5'8" | PG AHSTW | 2023 State IA | PG | AHSTW (91)
A diminutive lead guard, Scheffler has tremendous control of AHSTW’s offense. He sees the floor extremely well and thrives on getting his talented teammates involved. He has quick hands and feet on the defensive end as well and can be a real pest with his on-ball defense.
Ian Mindrup Ian Mindrup 6'3" | PF Linn-Mar | 2023 State IA | PF | Linn-Mar (92)
An active big man on both ends of the floor, the 6-3 Mindrup rebounds really well both inside and outside of his area, has good hands, embraces contact and is a solid finisher around the rim.
Tucker Clark Tucker Clark 6'5" | PF Center Point-Urbana | 2023 State IA | PF | Center Point-Urbana (95)
A 6-5 forward with good length, Clark is active on the glass on both ends of the floor. He runs the floor hard, is scrappy, and is a good help defender who came from the weakside for a few big blocks at the rim.
Chuck Epperly Chuck Epperly 6'0" | PG Valley | 2023 State IA | PG | Valley (100)
A good perimeter shooter, Epperly shows the ability to shoot it at a high level both off the dribble and the catch. He has a quick release, gets the ball into his shooting pocket quickly, and has good form on his jumper. He’s constantly moving off the ball, looking for spots in the defense to get off an open look.
Nolan DeLong Nolan DeLong 6'0" | SG Durant | 2023 State IA | SG | Durant (105)
DeLong is a volume scorer who can really fill it up in a hurry. He does a great job rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor, and he plays the passing lanes well. If he can become a bit more efficient, watch out.
Skyler Yazzie Skyler Yazzie 6'4" | SF Waukee | 2023 State IA | SF | Van Meter (108)
A versatile 6-4 forward who can stretch the floor or get to the bucket and finish above the rim. He rebounds well on both ends of the floor and can defend multiple positions.
Evan Bryan Evan Bryan 6'3" | SF Centennial | 2023 State IA | SF | Centennial (109)
Bryan can make an impact on both ends of the floor, using his length to create chaos on the defensive end and showing high IQ on the offensive end. He does a great job getting into passing lanes and turning defense into quick offense, and he uses his length to deflect lots of passes as well. He played effectively in the pick-and-roll, showing the ability to turn the corner and get to the rim, and he moves well off the ball, showing good awareness with a few off-ball cuts to the bucket for easy layups.
