TJ Ragland TJ Ragland 6'2" | PG Henderson Collegiate | 2022 State NC | 6’2 Guard | Team PUSH NC
Ragland is due for a breakout senior season at Henderson Collegiate after his performance at Big Shots Nationals with Team PUSH NC. He was electric with the ball in his hands and even more impressive defending the ball with his ability to force turnovers. He finished with 15.0 ppg including 19 points against THS while showing off his growth as a lead guard on the floor. He’ll be a prospect to track over the next few months.
Joe McDonough Joe McDonough 6'5" | CG Providence Day | 2022 State NC | 6’5 Guard/Wing | Team Synergy 2022
McDonough was an impressive face in the Team Synergy rotation at Big Shots Nationals given his ability to shoot the ball and operate off the bounce. He finished second on the team in scoring with 12.0 ppg including 15 points in a big win over Big Shots Select Winston-Salem. He isn’t afraid to play physical and plays hard, letting his effort talk for him on the floor. He’s a versatile wing prospect with nice size and a shooting stroke to go along with it.
Jerec Thompson Jerec Thompson 6'2" | SG Orange | 2022 State NC | 6’2 Shooting Guard | Mid-State Magic
It’s been awhile since PrepHoopsNC has seen Jerec Thompson Jerec Thompson 6'2" | SG Orange | 2022 State NC but he was better than ever with the Mid-State Magic as he showed off his ability to knock down shots and score the ball on all three levels. He knocked down four 3-pointers in a 27-points victory over Basketpoint USA for his squad as they went 2-1 on the weekend. He’s a shooter that’s active on the glass and getting downhill to the rim as well when he’s not finding openings on the perimeter.
Whitt Chappell | 5’9 Guard | Mid-State Magic
Chappell was a solid 1-2 combination in the Mid-State Magic backcourt alongside Jerec Thompson Jerec Thompson 6'2" | SG Orange | 2022 State NC . They worked well together in making an impact on both ends with Thompson doing more of the downhill work in getting to the paint and Chappell making things happen using his shooting. He knocked five three pointers in a 17 points performance. He’s a combo guard in the 2022 class to keep eyes on at Southern Alamance High.
Caleb Maul Caleb Maul 6'8" | C Metrolina Christian Academy | 2022 State NC | 6’8 Forward/Center | Team Hope Harrist
Maul is an inside-out threat with a ton of promise with Team Hope Harrist. He showed his potential as an all-around scorer with 12 points against Team Crucial to open Big Shots Nationals and put up 8.3 ppg while showing off his ability to rebound and be a presence in the paint and on the perimeter. As he learns to be more aggressive with his size and frame around the rim, look for his recruitment to grow.
Kendrell Brooks Kendrell Brooks 6'2" | CG The Burlington School | 2022 State NC | 6’2 Guard | Brothers Basketball
Brooks was another prospect in the Brothers Basketball backcourt that turned heads at Big Shots Nationals. He put up 15.5 ppg on the weekend including 29 points against WNY Crossover, showing off his ability to knock down shots on the perimeter and get to the paint and finish in traffic. He continues to climb up the radar as the summer winds down.
