Heading into such a unique season, I was not sure which players would be able to show enough of their skills and abilities to earn a spot at the next level, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of players are making the move to the next level, and especially a handful of players from smaller schools. This mix of great athletes proves that high level basketball talent can be found anywhere in the state. Continue reading for a look at some of the top college commitments from the class of 2021 in the state of Idaho.
Jacob Ankeny Jacob Ankeny 6'8" | C Marsing | 2021 State ID , University of Montana Western: After a great prep career at Marsing High School, Ankeny will take his talents east to the beautiful state of Montana. Jacob was a walking double-double throughout his career and had an excellent scoring and rebounding season this past year. Ankeny can score from anywhere on the court but did the majority of his damage in the paint. His strong body and great footwork make him a really tough cover for defenders of all skills and sizes and he always finds a new way to score. Watch for Ankeny to have an excellent college basketball career during his time at Montana Western.
Lloyer Driggs, Tarleton State: Driggs is one of the only Division I signees from the class of 2021 in the state of Idaho and he put together an impressive prep career to get there. Driggs is one of the best pure scorers in state history and he put his scoring abilities on display night in and night out. Whether it be from way beyond the arc or in the paint, Lloyer could score from anywhere and on anyone. He proved that he can play at a really high level and should be able to make a name for himself and carve out some playing time for this upcoming season. If Lloyer continues to work hard, he will have a great college career with many accolades and successful seasons coming his way.
