Continue ReadingA big part of Life Christian being 11-0 and winning most games by over 20 points has been 2021 highly skilled and versatile 6-3 Omari Malauna who has signed to play with Division II Biola University. Life Christian out of Tacoma, WA finished second in state last year and has now moved up a classification and will be battling with Seattle Academy for the 1A State Invitational title on Friday, July 2 at Cedar Park Christian High School in Bothell, WA.
Malauna has four 2022 teammates that are all four year college prospects as well.
Bradley Swillie Bradley Swillie 6'5" | SG Life Christian Academy | 2022 WA 6-5 Guard 2022 Life Christian HS
He has the handles, jump shot, strength, IQ and competitiveness necessary to dominate high school basketball. What he does translates to the next level. He is a Division I, mid-major prospect today and depending on how he plays the rest of the summer, he could find himself with multiple offers to choose from.
Chae Haynes Chae Haynes 6'6" | C Life Christian Academy | 2022 WA 6-6 Post 2022 Life Christian HS
Haynes has massively improved from last season. His conditioning and footwork are much better. While still room for improvement, the big bodied Haynes uses his size to seal would-be defenders and gobbles up defensive rebounds in a crowd. Tremendous court awareness and he has become a much better passer out of the double teams.
Marquis Trimble Marquis Trimble 6'2" | CG Life Christian Academy | 2022 WA 6-1 Guard 2022 Life Christian HS
Explosive quickness and tenacity are what draws scouts’ eyes to Trimble. His on-court presence is undeniable. He communicates, motivates and is a relentless ball-hawking defender with a knock down jumper and a tight handle.
Dai’shaun Nichols 6-3 Wing 2022 Life Christian HS
When Nichols is hitting from the high post and three point line, Life Christian is virtually unguardable. He has a solid frame that allows him to play bigger than 6-3 defensively. His offensive decision making has allowed his teammates to flourish and his team to win games.
Shane McGaughey-Fick Shane McGaughey-Fick 6'1" | PG King's | 2021 State WA 6-0 Point Guard 2021 Kings HS
Smooth shooting, excellent passing, sturdy point guard who makes everybody on the floor better. Plays at a high tempo without turning the ball over.
Will Pohland 6-2 Guard 2021 Kings HS
Fearless, three point-bombing sniper with good feet and hands on defense who really understands floor spacing and how to use and set good screens.
Jordan Hansen Jordan Hansen 6'6" | SG King's | 2022 State WA 6-6 Wing 2022 Kings HS
High release, textbook jump shooter who takes and makes shots from all over the floor with defenders draped all over him. The rest of the summer will allow Hansen to showcase his skills and he will have multiple four year offers to choose from.
Trenton Lynch Trenton Lynch 6'3" | CG Cedar Park Christian | 2021 State WA 6-3 Point Guard 2021 Cedar Park Christian HS
The heady point guard runs the show and still scored 18 points in a 70-58 win over Toppenish in a loser out game. While not explosive, his lack of elite level quickness does not stop him from being an efficient and effective leader.
Ryan Baker Ryan Baker 6'4" | SF Cedar Park Christian | 2021 State WA 6-5 Wing 2021 Cedar Park Christian HS
Baker put up 14 points and got inside for and one’s and knocked down high post jumpers with ease.
Jack Allen Jack Allen 6'2" | SG Cedar Park Christian | 2022 WA 6-1 Guard 2022 Cedar Park Christian HS
Allen had himself one of the best halves of the tournament. In the first half against Toppenish he nailed 5 three pointers on his way to 19 total points. His jumper is pure, smooth, quick and snaps the net with certainty. I hope to see more of him this summer to see if he can consistently shoot the ball as well as he did in this game.
Riley Mesplie 6-0 Point Guard 2022 Toppenish HS
A very smart player with the ball. He sets up defenders and drives to the hoop to create passing angles for his teammates and shoots it well enough himself to force defenders not to be able to leave him alone.
Jason Grant Jason Grant 6'0" | SF Toppenish | 2022 State WA 6-1 Wing 2022 Toppenish HS
An aggressive attacker of the basket that bumps off defenders and finishes through contact. He put up 17 against a taller Cedar Park Christian team.
Joshua Perez 5-10 Guard 2023 Toppenish HS
A quick shooter with deep range and a good fake that allows him to take advantage of and defensive errors. He scored 17 points vs Cedar park Christian and showed the ability to score multiple ways.
