Robby Matos Robby Matos 5'9" | PG Blue Ridge | 2023 VA | 5’10 Guard | Team Marsh (Virginia Episcopal)
Matos is an electric combo guard with a ton of potential scoring and making plays for others. He finished with 21 points, 15 in the second half to lead the offensive attack as Team Marsh won things going away. He showed off his ability to get by defenders and get to the rim.
Jessie Mitchell Jessie Mitchell 6'4" | SG Grace Christian (Sanford) | 2022 State NC | 6’4 Shooting Guard | Strong Center 2023 (Grace Christian)
Mitchell picked up where he left off this past weekend in Rock Hill with his ability to shoot the ball. His shooting stroke was on full display as he knocked down four 3-pointers including three back-to-back to open the second half of play while knocking down 22 points to finish atop the 16U Orange Division for the day. He’s a shooter that continues to impress in NC’s 2023 class.
Collin Kuhl Collin Kuhl 6'8" | SF Holly Springs | 2023 State NC | 6’7 Wing/Forward | Strong Center 2023 (Holly Springs)
Kuhl is an emerging name that’s come on strong in the past month with Strong Center ‘s squad. He’s a 6-foot-7 prospect that uses his length well to finish with authority and get to the rim. He put up 12 of his 18 points in the second half, showing off his ability to shoot the ball and get to the rim.
Aidan Gallagher | 6’4 Wing/Guard | PSB DMV Elite (Bullis Prep)
Gallagher is an emerging presence on the perimeter with his ability to shoot the basketball. He finished with 21 points, 11 in the second half, while knocking down three 3-pointers and showing off his ability to be a presence on the perimeter.
Shombe Jackson | 5’11 Guard | Team Marsh-Churchwell (Matoaca)
Jackson is an emerging name to know with Team Marsh-Churchwell given his impact with the ball in his hands. He turned his game up in the second half with Team Marsh with 11 points, all in the second half to show off his ability to turn things up when his team needed him. He’s an emerging guard prospect with a ton of promise in the 2023 class.
Nigel Clarkson | 6’5 Wing/Forward | Team Marsh-Churchwell (Cosby)
Clarkson has good length that he uses well to alter shots and rebound the ball. He also showed off his ability to be an option in the pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop game while knocking down shots. He’s a versatile threat with some upside in the Team Marsh-Churchwell rotation.
Dante Kearse Dante Kearse 6'5" | SF Hargrave Military Academy | 2023 State VA | 6’4 Forward | VA Havoc (Manchester)
Kearse had a big performance against Team Loaded Bowman as he was unstoppable around the rim and as a presence in the paint. He posted 26 points, proving to be a force in the paint on the opening day. He’s a versatile scoring threat that uses his length and mobility well to be a frontcourt presence.
Jordan Lambert Jordan Lambert 5'11" | PG Hopewell | 2023 State VA | 5’10 Point Guard | Big Shots Elite WV (Prince George)
Lambert was another prospect playing up on the 17U division with Big Shots Elite WV. He had a productive second half running the lead guard position for the Big Shots Elite WV backcourt. He put up 20 points, 14 in the second half, to pace the second half scoring attack. As he learns to make sound decisions with the ball, look for his stock to grow in the 2023 class.
