Once again Lamar Washington Lamar Washington 6'4" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State #128 Nation AZ (2022 Jefferson) and Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ (2023 Jefferson) would be on any list and they both had big weeks (Washington averaged 28.3 ppg in 3 games and Cook averaged 18.0 ppg/12.0 rpg in 2 and hit the game-winning shot against Grant) but here’s a look at some of the other top performers we saw.
Raysean Seamster (2022 Roosevelt)
Every year there’s a guy that rises to super high levels from the JV ranks and this season’s top candidate is Seamster. He’s reportedly grown about six inches since last year to 6-foot-6 and combined with his length and athleticism, the junior has the makings of being a beast. Seamster is still a bit of a diamond in the rough offensively, but he has a decent touch on his perimeter jumper and he plays with passion. Don’t be surprised if he’s ranked high in the next 2022 rankings update.
Terrence Hill Jr Terrence Hill Jr 6'3" | PG Roosevelt | 2024 State #183 Nation OR (2024 Roosevelt)
If you’re just getting to know the Class of 2024, Hill is unquestionably a good guy to start with. The 6-foot-2 guard plays with a maturity beyond his years and given his fast start this season he’s going to be a high level recruit if his development curve continues along at the same pace. Hill can shoot, create off the dribble, and get buckets both for himself and for others. He scored a team-high 24 points against Jefferson and was also a factor on the defensive boards.
Utrillo Morris Utrillo Morris 5'8" | PG Roosevelt | 2024 State OR (2024 Roosevelt)
Hill isn’t the only freshman making an impact at Roosevelt. Morris is a speedy 5-foot-8 point guard that reminds us of those little floor leaders that seemingly always exist in the Seattle metro area. He was extremely quick with his dribble, looked to find open teammates, was a blur in the open floor, and even hit a few shots, finishing with 7 points and 8 assists. Morris unfortunately recently broke his wrist and will be out of action for some time.
Trejon Williams Trejon Williams 5'11" | PG Jefferson | 2022 OR (2022 Jefferson)
Williams won’t grab the headlines with teammates like Lamar Washington Lamar Washington 6'4" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State #128 Nation AZ and Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ around, but he’s been a critical part of the team’s success this season – in fact they don’t beat Grant if not for his play. The 6-foot guard was extremely tough around the hoop in scoring a team-high 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds, and he really made an impact with his defense on the Generals guards. Williams’ future will be on the gridiron at Oregon but he’s a difference maker in high school.
Adrian Mosley Adrian Mosley 6'2" | SF West Linn | 2023 State #269 Nation OR (2023 Grant)
Mosley is an intriguing player as despite his 6-foot-1 frame, he has the length, athleticism, and strength to play a number of different positions, even in the post. In the close loss against Jefferson, he showed that he’s continued to hone his game offensively in that he wasn’t just scoring around the hoop but is now more confident with his perimeter shot. He did a good job shadowing Washington on the defensive end and it will be interesting how he continues to develop.
Aiden Grady Aiden Grady 6'7" | PF Westview | 2021 State OR (2021 Westview)
The Maine Fort Kent commit had himself quite the day in the Wildcats rivalry game win at Sunset. The 6-foot-8 senior was near unstoppable in the paint, showing off a variety of post moves and a super soft touch on his shot, both from when he had his back to the basket or getting the ball facing the rim. When his physical stature matches up to his skill level at the college level, watch out. He finished the game with 25 points and eight rebounds.
Trace Salton Trace Salton 6'5" | SF Lake Oswego | 2021 State OR (2021 Lake Oswego)
The Lakers have had their struggles so far this year and some of it has been due to the fact they basically didn’t have the services for Salton for two full games due to a controversial ejection and suspension. The 6-foot-5 swingman has made up for lost time on the court even if the results haven’t been team wins. Salton notched team highs of 26 points and nine rebounds against Jefferson where he was able to score both inside and out, showing improvement with his perimeter game.
