Malik Ross Malik Ross 6'0" | CG Tualatin | 2022 State OR (2022 Tualatin)
Ross has definitely been Tualatin’s most consistent performer all year and you can count on him for 15-17 points per night. He started off slowly and it wasn’t his best shooting night against West Linn but the 5-foot-11 guard attacked the basket and got to the line, where he’s one of the top free throw shooters in the state.
Noah Ogoli Noah Ogoli 6'2" | CG Tualatin | 2022 State OR (2022 Tualatin)
It definitely wasn’t a great shooting night for Ogoli, but where he made his impression was on the defensive end. He was the one assigned to shadow Jackson Shelstad Jackson Shelstad 6'0" | PG West Linn | 2023 State #55 Nation OR and the junior guard did an outstanding job both with ball denial and his on-the-ball defense. Ogoli ended up getting a few buckets in transition, which has been good for him all year.
Riley Scanlan Riley Scanlan 6'4" | SF Wilsonville | 2021 State OR (2021 Wilsonville)
We haven’t seen many 5A games this year but based on what we’ve caught of Scanlan, he’s got to be a candidate for Player of the Year. Against Stayton, the 6-foot-5 forward finished at the rim, knocked down threes, and showed great motor on the defensive end. A high-academic student, Scanlan is headed to BYU to study Biochemistry and is not currently planning on playing college basketball.
Logan Thebiay Logan Thebiay 6'10" | PF Wilsonville | 2022 State OR (2022 Wilsonville)
While he’s had some double figure scoring games this season, where Thebiay has really contributed for Wilsonville is simply being a traditional big man on defense and rebounding. He sucked up boards like a vacuum cleaner for the Wildcats against Stayton and was physical and immovable defensively in the post. Thebiay simply doesn’t need to score to be extremely effective in coach Chris Roche’s system.
Jacob Axmaker Jacob Axmaker 6'0" | CG Stayton | 2022 State OR (2022 Stayton)
Axmaker is best known for his ability to launch – and make – deep threes with a quick release. The Wilsonville defense was ready for that though so credit the 6-foot junior in that he adjusted his game. Axmaker used a physical advantage on his defender to take the ball to the hoop to score and on the rare occasions he did get a clean look at a three, he knocked them down. On the night he finished with 19 points.
