There’s tons of events going on all over the country, but right here in VA there will be a private school event hosted at Blue Ridge School outside of Charlottesville.
We will preview the event in numerous ways, as we take a look at part one of the 2022 prospects that I think will turn some heads with coaches in attendance.
Stay tuned for more including underrated prospects that could flourish and a look at other classes as well.

Underrated 2022 Prospects
Roman Barshow Roman Barshow 6'6" | PF Steward School | 2022 State VA | 6’7” PF | Steward School
Barshow should be a new name in the Richmond area to keep an eye on after transferring from Highland School, as he’s had a big spring so far and looks ready to make a name for himself. The 6’7” forward is a mismatch nightmare as he’s able to play inside-out, he’s surprisingly bouncy and he can light it up from deep when he gets it going.
Wendell Tomlin Wendell Tomlin 6'6" | PF Church Hill Academy | 2022 State VA | 6’6” F | Church Hill Academy
One of the most underrated guys in the entire state, Tomlin is oozing with potential and is as hard to matchup with as anyone as he’s a 6’6” do-it-all forward with a mix of perimeter skill and athleticism. He has great ball skills at his size as he can put it on the deck and knock it down from deep, he’s athletic and uses his athleticism on the glass and defensive end and he is productive across the board.
Zach Bolgert Zach Bolgert 6'7" | PF Fairfax Christian School | 2022 State VA | 6’6” PF | Fairfax Christian
Bolgert is a part of a revamped Fairfax Christian team to keep an eye on over the next few years, and the 6’6” forward should see coaches show him interest with his stretch ability and production rate. He’s a mismatch guy who can bring out the defensive and open lanes for his guards, he’s a good rebounder and underrated athlete and he has good feel at his position as well.
Ryan Blakely | 5’9” PG | Fairfax Christian
Blakely isn’t the biggest guy, but the lightning quick PG is a natural playmaker and can flat out cook off of the bounce when he gets it going. He’s shifty with a good handle and lives in the lane off the bounce, he can make plays for others when he gets in the lane and he can score it from multiple levels with his athleticism and touch in the midrange.
Tekao Carpenter Tekao Carpenter 6'2" | CG National Christian | 2021 State MD | 6’3” CG | National Christian
Carpenter was National Christian’s sixth man last year, and with the departure of two division one seniors in the backcourt he’s set to see his opportunities pick up this year and he’s been playing well this year for New World Gold. The 6’3” guard is long and skilled both on and off the basketball, he can knock down shots with consistency from deep and he’s a good defender as well.
Shaq Samuels | 6’6” WF | Avalon School
Samuels is a guy coaches will like as he has a blend of size, athleticism and strength to go along with a good skill set on the wing as well. He can put it on the deck and get in the lane where he can finish through traffic when he gets downhill, he can stick it from deep when he’s left open and he can guard multiple positions on the defensive end.
Ty Williams Ty Williams 6'1" | PG Rock Creek Christian | 2022 State MD | 6’2” PG | Rock Creek Christian
Williams is a guy I forgot on the offers list as he just recently picked up an offer from Mount St. Mary’s, and the 6’2” guard could turn more heads this weekend with his ability to run the show and set the tone on both ends of the floor. He’s shifty off the bounce with a good handle, he can score it from multiple levels when he’s left open and he’s a great on ball defender that can guard the length of the floor.
CJ Lee CJ Lee 6'1" | CG Northwest Jaguars | 2022 State MD | 5’10” PG | Rock Creek Christian
Lee is another scholarship level lead guard for this Rock Creek team that has been playing very well for District Basketball Club this spring, and despite not being the biggest guy he can play and cook with the best of them. He’s a shifty ball handler that can dance with it and plays with good pace, he shoots it at a high clip from deep and he’s a good defender both on and off the ball.
Jeremiah Little-John | 6’4” WG | Rock Creek Christian
Little-John is a very intriguing wing prospect with good size and the ability to get hot quickly and fill it up in bunches when he gets it going. At 6’4”, he’s a guy who can create his own shot in isolation situations, he’s a confident scorer that can make shots from multiple levels and he has good potential on the defensive end as well.
