#25 Ryan Blakey Ryan Blakey 5'8" | PG Fairfax Christian | 2022 State VA | 5’8” | Fairfax Christian (#87 Overall)
Blakey is part of a revamped Fairfax Christian group that should impress in the VISAA D3 classification next season. The 5’8” guard is a little diminutive but he’s lightning quick off the bounce, he makes plays for himself and others and he’s a pesky on ball defender. He’s highly skilled as both a scorer and playmaker and he can light it up when he gets it going.
#24 Ayrion Journiette | 6’0” | Northside (#80 Overall)
Journiette has been one of the top guards in the Roanoke area over the past few years, and he only continues to get better and be productive every time I see him. He’s a fearless guard that will attack time and time again against bigger players, he can hit the midrange pull-up with consistency and he’s a good on ball defender as well.
#23 Colin Ryan Colin Ryan 6'1" | PG Collegiate | 2022 State VA | 6’1” | Collegiate (#79 Overall)
Ryan is the type of player that you love to play with and hate to play against, because he brings intensity and a win at all costs type of attitude regardless of who is put in front of him. The 6’1” floor general will set the tone on both ends of the floor as he has great leadership skills and instincts on both ends, he’s skilled on the ball and a good shooter and he does the dirty work that doesn’t show up in the stat book as well.
#22 Trey Gillenwater Trey Gillenwater 6'2" | PG Eastern Mennonite | 2022 State VA | 6’2” | Eastern Mennonite (#78 Overall)
Gillenwater has been one of the best players in the Harrisonburg area the past few years, and he’s had a really good spring so far as well and is starting to see coaches show more and more interest as of late. The 6’2” guard is smooth off the bounce and out of the triple threat, he can make shots from deep and he understands the game and plays it the right way.
#21 Reggie Robertson Reggie Robertson 5'8" | PG John Marshall | 2022 State VA | 5’9” | John Marshall (#77 Overall)
Robertson is toughness personified in a guard and he’s the type of player that small schools should be all over because he’s going to bring it from day one and make your team better. He’s strong and compact with the ball in his hands, he brings it on the defensive end and does the dirty work and he can get hot from deep and knock down shots in bunches when he gets it going.
#20 Keishawn Pulley Keishawn Pulley 6'2" | CG St. Christopher's School | 2022 State VA | 6’2” | St. Christopher’s (#76 Overall)
Pulley has climbed the rankings despite St. Chris not really having a season due to his play in some fall events as well as they way he’s played with Team Richmond this spring. He’s really improved over the past few years from just a stand still shooter to a true combo guard that can attack and make plays for others, use his length around the rim and he can still light it up from deep when he’s left open.
#19 Quanye Veney Quanye Veney 6'0" | CG Highland Springs | 2022 State VA | 6’0” | Highland Springs (#72 Overall)
Veney is a two sport star that also is a standout for Spring’s football team that is one of the best in the state, however his impact on the basketball court goes much further than just his natural athleticism. He’s a dog of a defender who will guard you 94 feet, he’s quick and shifty off the bounce and gets in the lane at will and he can make plays for others and make his teammates better as well.
#18 Elijah White Elijah White 5'11" | PG Kempsville | 2022 State VA | 5’11” | Kempsville (#71 Overall)
White has been one of the most unheralded guards in the Beach District over the past few years, as he’s been as steady and consistent as they come and is highly skilled in a number of ways. He isn’t the biggest or most athletic guy but he’s shifty with a good handle and can break you down, he sees the floor and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and he’s able to create space and make shots from multiple levels and can shoot it with deep range.
#17 Devin Walker Devin Walker 6'0" | PG Blue Ridge | 2022 State VA | 6’0” | Blue Ridge (#70 Overall)
Walker is a player who has been behind some very good players for Blue Ridge over the past few seasons, but now that he’s getting the opportunities he’s showing he can really play this spring. The 6’0” floor general is a good athlete who can defend and rebounds well for his position, he has great feel with the ball in his hands and he can create and make tough shots from multiple levels when he needs to.
#16 Gray Proffitt Gray Proffitt 6'5" | CG Douglas Freeman | 2022 State VA | 6’5” | Douglas Freeman (#68 Overall)
Proffitt is one of the best players in these rankings that we didn’t have in the previous rankings, as the 6’5” combo guard showed throughout the CBG Winter Series and this spring he can play with the best of them. He has great size at the guard position, he can handle it and has great feel and playmaking ability and he can score from all three levels when he needs to.
