Tyler McKinley, 6’8 C Walnut Hills 2024: When we release our 2024 rankings before the end of the month, McKinley has a great chance to be our top prospect in the state. If you watched his game against Dayton Dunbar, you’d see the potential of McKinley. Tyler was dominating in the pick and roll as the roll guy, knocking down multiple jumpers and making impressive passes from the high post. McKinley has good hands and is an active defender. McKinley is one of many studs on the All Ohio Red 15U squad that lost one game all Spring.
Dorian Williams, 6’3 SF Princeton 2024: Princeton was without three starters on the second day of the event, and unfortunately that was the only day we watched the Vikings play. Williams took advantage of a larger offensive role and impressed us. Williams has a body that makes you think he’s a football player and plays a physical brand of basketball. The lefty also knocked down a solid amount of 3-pointers off the catch. Expect big things from Williams next season for Princeton, playing next to Bowen Hardman Bowen Hardman 6'4" | SG Princeton | 2022 State OH .
Ben Menker, 6’3 SF Mason 2024: Our first viewing of Menker was in a blowout loss to Taft, but the rising Sophomore was a bright spot for the Comets. Menker plays in control on offense and has a lot of primary creation responsibility on an inexperienced Mason squad that needs to run through their sets in the half-court. Menker showed impressive outside shooting and play-making for others. If Menker improves in the weight room, he’s going to be a problem in the GMC.
Cade Norris, 6’2 PG Hilliard Bradley 2024: Norris is very unique compared to his two older brothers, but there’s some things that were passed down in the family. First off Norris is a hard nosed, high IQ point guard that runs the Jags methodical offense to perfection. Norris uses his strength against weaker defenders and isn’t afraid to score with his back to the basket. One of the most productive freshman in the state last season, Norris is taking steps to improve heading into his Sophomore season. With Norris running the show on the court, Bradley is going to be a tough out once again.
Jeb Bischoff, 5’11 SG Hilliard Bradley 2024: What we like about Bischoff is that despite just being a rising Sophomore, Bischoff knows exactly who he is on the basketball court. It’s sometimes uncommon for seniors to understand their role on a team and Bischoff already has his mastered. Bischoff runs off screens and has a quick release and great feet off the catch. Bischoff is limited physically, which prevents him from taking defenders off the bounce very often and finishing in the paint. We like Bischoff’s defensive communication and effort as well. Bischoff is a prime example of how Hilliard Bradley’s culture allows them to succeed year in and year out.
