This high-level setting was designed to evaluate and provide exposure to under-the-radar prospects. All games were live-streamed and included official stats. The tournament featured several talented wings and post players. In this article, we take a look at the top Wings and Bigs from the tournament.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 SF Desert Valley Prep 2022 (#8PHN 2022) – Johson played his role this weekend, showing off his versatility while providing whatever the Champs needed. He scored in transition, rebounded, and was able to provide both back and frontcourt defense. He helped DVP take home the Gold Bracket Crown.
Kaden Wright Kaden Wright 6'6" | C Silverado | 2023 State NV 6’4 C Miners 2023 – Big bodied banger 5. Wright has some decent vision from the high post and showed the ability to hit cutters as they flashed into the lane.
Dalton Runyon 6’2 SG D1 Southern California – It was a productive weekend for Runyon. He was one of the deadlier options on D1. He was able to score in transition and sprayed 3’s from the corner. He averaged just over 10ppg during bracket play, helping D1 advance to the Semifinals.
LJ Mercurius LJ Mercurius 6'3" | SF Faith Lutheran | 2023 State NV 6’3 SF Meadows 2023 (#7PHN 2023) (featured image) – Mercurius oozes potential, and he flashed some of it this weekend. He was the best athlete for Meadows, giving them an additional element, to go along with his ability to score in transition. The 6’3 guard showed the ability to get to the rim off dribble drives and knocked down his share of open jumpers.
Pharreal Coronado Pharreal Coronado 6'3" | SF Ben Lomond | 2022 State UT 6’3 SF Utah Sharks 2023 – Coronado played well for the Sharks. The high motor athlete battled for rebounds and was able to catch and finish around the rim. He chipped in 7 points and 5 boards in the Sharks Quarterfinal game against D1.
