Spring Stock Boosting Players: Class of 2022
In this article:
As spring comes to an end we are seeing the “break” from grassroots basketball and the move back to high school basketball camps for June. With the spring season we had a chance to evaluate many familiar and new faces. Here are some guys who have been having break out seasons in the spring.
Dylan Sanders Dylan Sanders 6'4" | CG Colorado Prep | 2022 FL – Colorado Prep/RoughRiders Give
Dylan is a player who one could always see his high potential when he played. Now as he is growing a lot of that potential is starting to come to light. From three point land Dylan has been shooting lights out, and can shoot on and off the dribble. He is also an elite athlete who can finish with momentum changing dunks at the rim. Being a scorer and having great height at 6’4 Dylan is a real combo guard, his passing has improved a ton in the past year and he is looking more and more comfortable at the lead guard spot everyday. Also Dylan can get it done on both ends of the floor as he uses his athleticism to sit on the defensive end. This upcoming senior season for Dylan will be a fun one to watch!
Zach Akin Zach Akin 6'2" | CG Ralston Valley | 2022 State CO – Ralston Valley/Colorado Chaos
Zach Akin Zach Akin 6'2" | CG Ralston Valley | 2022 State CO is a player who flew under the radar for a while but now is balling out in a big way! Zach is wing who has great height standing 6’4. Zach is a player who just has a great sense for the game. At all three levels Zach is a viable scorer. Then in the pick and roll he is a high IQ guard who can find the roller or get his own bucket. From beyond the three point arc, Zach gets the ball into his shooting pocket very quickly which allows him to hit many tough shots. Zach will be a player to know this upcoming season.
Aidan Kuhl Aidan Kuhl 6'0" | SG Rocky Mountain | 2022 State #245 Nation CO – Rocky Mountain/Pro Skills Denver
Aidan Kuhl Aidan Kuhl 6'0" | SG Rocky Mountain | 2022 State #245 Nation CO has consistently been a top player at every local event he has shown up at this spring. We knew that Aidan was a big time scorer against local high school competition as he put up 21.3 points per game in his junior season for Rocky Mountain. He has more then kept up that consistency against higher competition. Aidan is a quick guard who scores at all three levels but is the most deadly from three point land. Aidan makes it hard for defenders to stay on him as he is very quick, has shifty handles, and uses a variety of hop steps, euro steps, and step backs to get defenders out of position. Aidan is a big bucket maker who I am sure his recruitment will pick up soon and he has put in name up in the discussions with the top guards in the state!
Derik Pranger Derik Pranger 6'8" | SF Colorado Prep | 2022 State CO – Colorado Prep/RoughRiders Give
Derik Pranger Derik Pranger 6'8" | SF Colorado Prep | 2022 State CO is a player who came onto the scene hot this spring. Derik is a player with super high potential, he stands at 6’8 but moves and shoots like a guard. This height and shooting ability make him a very intriguing prospect with the fact that he also cuts and moves very well off of the ball. On the defensive end Derik has solid footwork to defend on the outside but on the inside is a very good shot blocker. As we get to see more of Derik we hope to see more of him in that shooter/slasher role as he has been striving their this spring!
