Here are some sleeper prospects who should stand out this weekend.
Mark Woolhouse Mark Woolhouse 6'9" | PF Pennington | 2022 State NJ , 6’9 PF Pennington 2022
Woolhouse has seen his stock rise over the past couple of months and the trend should continue after his weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Shootout at Hun. The 6’9 forward is comfortable playing on the perimeter and his range extends past the three-point line. Woolhouse has a nice touch around the basket and draws contact regularly. He is a good rebounder and uses his length to alter shots arounds the rim. Woolhouse is a skilled stretch four prospect who has the potential to turn heads this weekend.
Matt Kinzler Matt Kinzler 6'7" | PF St. Peter's Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’7 SG St. Peter’s Prep 2023
Kinzler has been playing well for the NJ Panthers this spring and will be looking to make noise at Jersey Live. The 6’7 wing has a smooth release on his jumper and can shoot over most of this defenders. Kinzler is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is an underrated passer and has the potential to defend multiple positions on the floor. Kinzler’s shooting is something that will help his stock this weekend.
Jonathon Spatola, 5’8 PG Marlboro 2022
Spatola is a gamer and he should put it on full display this weekend at Jersey Live. The 5’8 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get into the lane and make plays. Spatola is more than just a driver as he can knock down jumpers from distance. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and is a tough on-ball defender. Spatola does whatever it takes to win, which should be on full display this weekend.
Ian Imegwu Ian Imegwu 6'8" | PF Blair Academy | 2023 State NJ , 6’8 PF Blair Academy 2023
Imegwu is ready for a big summer season and it should start with his play at the Mid-Atlantic Shootout. The 6’8 forward has a good face-up game as he can take his man off the dribble or step outside to knock down triples. Imegwu has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to draw contact. He is a good shot-blocker as he uses his size and timing to swat shots. Imegwu’s ability to make an impact at both ends of the floor is something that will benefit him tremendously over the weekend.
Jaylan Hornsby, 6’3 SG Overbrook 2024
Hornsby may have only played one varsity season, but he should still make a big impact at Jersey Live. The 6’3 guard attacks the basket hard and is capable of finishing through contact. Hornsby is more than just a slasher as he can score in the mid-range and can has a nice release on his jumper. He is a strong rebounder and can defend both guard spots. Hornsby has a bright future ahead of him and it starts with a strong weekend at Jersey Live.
