Continue ReadingThis past weekend a significant number of the top grassroots teams from southeastern PA traveled to Oaks, Pennsylvania to participate in the Big Shots / Team Final tournament. One of the better spring grassroots events in the Philadelphia area, the Big Shots / Team Final event boasts an extremely competitive field of regional teams. Other area teams in our 15U rankings traveled to Long Island and Maryland for grassroots action.
The results of those events produced a move at the top of this week’s rankings and after winning the Big Shots / Team Final tournament, a new 15U team makes its debut at No. 8 in the Top 10 rankings.
Below is the eighth and final edition of the Spring 2021 southeastern Pennsylvania’s 15U grassroots teams Top 10 rankings.
- Team Final EYBL: Team Final “played up” in the 16U division of the Big Shots / Team Final event and still brought home the hardware (4-0). Extremely athletic guard Robert Wright III Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL certainly did his part this past weekend — 23 pts in ‘chip game; 12 ppg. on the weekend and named age group MVP. Amir Williams Amir Williams 6'6" | SF Neuman-Goretti | 2024 State PA and Moses Hipps Moses Hipps 6'4" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ also turned some heads. After going 4-0 this past weekend and 3-0 at the Gym Rats Live event the previous week, this deep and talented squad ends the spring season by sweeping their final two tourneys. They were 17-2 in their last nineteen games this spring.
- Philly Pride National UAA: This squad has been out on the circuit playing national competition for weeks now. After a solid showing at the Southern Jam Fest (VA), Philly Pride National traveled to Indiana for the Under Armour Memorial Day tournament. They had a very nice showing in Indy as well (3-2). This past weekend they drove out to Long Island for The Collision event. Fazl Oshodi Fazl Oshodi 6'3" | CG Friends Central | 2024 State PA led the way for Philly Pride National (2-1). Oshodi hit for 15+ points during Philly Pride’s wins over the NJ Panthers and NY Gauchos. Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA and Reggie Selden, Jr. were consistent contributors all weekend.

This group finished the spring season with an impressive 5-2 run over their last 7 games.
- Philly Revolution: This past weekend the Revolution strung together a great run to the Big Shots / Team Final tourney championship game. Unfortunately they lost that contest by one point to ESF-Dobbs (PA) and finished with a 3-1 record. That loss came despite 36 points from Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA . Bethea posted an outstanding all around weekend (22 ppg.). He drained threes, scored in transition, handled the pill against full court pressure and played ball hawk defense.
- Team Final Red HGSL: Down the home stretch of the spring circuit this team was riddled with injuries. Despite often being out-manned, TFR-15U played gutsy basketball in recent weeks and earned a great deal of respect. Hopefully their bigs will get healthy in time to return for the July circuit to help standout David Fridia David Fridia 6'6" | PF Allentown Central Catholic | 2024 State PA on the interior. High level backcourt prospect Jake West Jake West 6'1" | PG William Penn Charter | 2025 State #193 Nation PA was outstanding all spring.
