The tournament featured 18 Varsity programs and 6 JV teams playing with their teams in June. PH was there for the two day event evaluating prospects in the classes 2022, 2023. Our focus was on the Varsity level.
Jordan Aquino Jordan Aquino 5'9" | CG Lincoln SF | 2022 State CA-N 5’8 PG of Lincoln HS 2022
Aquino was showcasing his overall point guard skills at this event. The guard can score at a high level from different angles on the court. He showed off his facilitating skills at this event. Having good patience directing the offense, and making sure to involve others. Mixing his ability to score along with his vision adds good balance to his game. He has the strength, and burst to go by defenders using hard dribbles to get his points. He’s as tough as they come.
Alex Harden 6’5 Guard of Washington HS 2022
Harden has a solid body, and a good set of handles to create his own scoring opportunities playing on the wings or the top for his team. He has good balance and is rarely out of control using an occasional spin move to create scoring opportunities on the drive. He has good strength inside finishing strong from the baseline and going up off two feet. He hit several short jumpers, and showed he can hit the outside shot as well.
Giancarlo Toledo 6’3 Shooting guard of Saint Ignatius HS 2022
Giancarlo is one of the better spot up 3 points shooters we have in NorCal. He’s worked hard to add balance to his game, which includes a floater into the lane, and nice drive from the baseline. It all comes back to his ability to knock down 3’s on the catch and shoot. He’s not super fast but he uses screens and moves well without the ball. He opens up the court for teammates.
Matt Corrigan 6’5 G/W of Palo Alto HS. 2022
It was our first look at the long, and lengthy Corrigan. He plays the game at a good pace. He runs the court well, and will hit the transition 3ptr in stride. He does a good job along the baseline taking his man off the dribble or knocking down the short corner jumper. He knocked down multiple 3’s from the corners and the wings. He showed some ability to handle, and pass in the open court.
Javon Johnson 6’4 G/W of De La Salle HS 2022
Johnson seemed to get better with each game. He became more aggressive, and confident, actively looking for scoring opportunities when he had the ball. He started going strong on the drive, and used good strength going up inside. He has a decent shot from mid-range. He did some handling in the open court making the right pass.
