The Riverside Brookfield Shootout this past weekend was a great opportunity to get evaluations on prospects from across the classes from around the Chicagoland area. Our post event coverage features 100+ scouting reports on prospects in the event. Here is Riverside Brookfield: 2023 Evaluations Pt 2!

[player_tooltip player_id="989263" first="Asa" last="Thomas"] (Lake Forest)

Thomas was the talk of the event. At 6’6” he has excellent positional size for a two guard along with solid athleticism. He lit up the nets with his elite shot making draining threes all four games as one of the top scorers in the event. Much more than just a sniper. He has a versatile game where he shoots it from different angles and can post up smaller defenders. Showed some pop on a couple of jams. Skilled passer that moves incredibly well without the ball. Solidified a high-major grade.

[player_tooltip player_id="1148119" first="Jeremy" last="Harrington"] (Curie)

Harrington will be Curie’s most productive player the next two seasons. The undersized four is a physically built forward that gets stuff done. He can handle it some from the high-post often converting with euro steps in the paint. Shoots it pretty well from distance. Area rebounder. D2 prospect right now with the chance to elevate if his athleticism improves.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048386" first="Jaloni" last="Johnson"] (Proviso East)

Johnson is a shot making junior combo guard that was effective as a shooter creating on his own several off the bounce from threes. Creative ball handler that gets in the lane for finishes at the cup. Prospect that has upside especially if he can develop more as a lead guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="939081" first="Damarion" last="Wyatt"] (North Lawndale)

First look at Wyatt in person in a while. The guard uses his speed to do most of his damage in transition. Smaller guard pushes in the open floor. Small college player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048318" first="KJ" last="Cobb"] (Bloom)

Stocky combo guard that was the player who ignited Bloom’s comeback win on Saturday. He got after it on the defensive end with his in your face defense then turning those steals into points on the other end. Physical rebounder for his size and is a capable three point shooter off the catch. D2s keep him on your radar.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048314" first="Jordan" last="Brown"] (Bloom)

Long and rangy combo guard that has good size. Scrappy defender that does most of his offensive damage in the open floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048389" first="Aaron" last="Miramontes"] (Morton)

Wide bodied undersized five man that has touch and feel scoring around the hoop. Short jump shot and nimble footwork for how big he is. Seals on the block and is efficient with his touches. Ideal early small college post candidate.

Hunter Duncan (Fenwick)

First look at the La Lumiere (IN) transfer. He is a plus passer that does it with flair. Quick passes in traffic and made everything run much smoother for Thomas and his wings. Sets them up with crisp passing and creative handles.

Andrew Ayeni (St. Patrick)

New name here as the 6’3” wing has decent length and was productive in our eval of him. Attacks off the bounce and hit a three. Two way potential as he was a solid wing defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="1215301" first="Camron" last="Williford"] (Hyde Park)

This Hyde Park slender point guard projects because of his length and scoring pop at the point guard spot. Good shooter with deep range and plays with flair.

[player_tooltip player_id="939079" first="Sonny" last="Williams"] (Niles Notre Dame)

Williams was outstanding for Notre Dame. It is now his team and he played like it. The top 20 prospect opened eyes of college coaches on hand with his burst off the bounce and crisp handles getting where he needed for scores in the paint, pull ups, and creating his shot from three. Lived at the rim throughout. Mid-major to low-major prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048306" first="Miles" last="Rubin"] (Simeon)

Rubin is a rangy left-handed four man that recently moved into the top 10 overall. He is a mobile post that converted in the pick/roll, left handed hook shot, and rim ran for buckets. Can put it on the deck some as well. Love the upside here! Mid-major grade at this stage.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048305" first="Wesley" last="Rubin"] (Simeon)

Rubin is the right handed twin. He passed it well in the lane, put it on the deck from the high-post for scores, and crashed the glass. Low-major prospect with the upside to rise.

[player_tooltip player_id="939059" first="Jalen" last="Griffith"] (Simeon)

Solid outing for Griffith. Quick and small guard that has burst off the bounce and pushes in the open floor. He shot it pretty well knocking in some jumpers in the game we saw.

Max Haack (Downers Grove North)

New name here. Haack is a 6’0” guard that knocked in shots at a consistent clip right from the jump. He projects as a really nice small college shooting threat that will be a force for DGN the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id="1159876" first="Andrew" last="Soenksen"] (Plainfield East)

Long and thin combo forward that will need to add strength, but the skill is intriguing. Give and go finish and hit a three. Projectable forward that has a ways to go, but there is definitely some tools in the tool box here.
