Our post event coverage features 100+ scouting reports on prospects in the event. Here is Riverside Brookfield: 2023 Evaluations Pt 1!
Cameron Christie Cameron Christie 6'4" | SG Rolling Meadows | 2023 State #76 Nation IL (Rolling Meadows)
Christie more than lived up to his top 5 ranking with his play at RB. The smooth two guard let his teammates get going early and then when he needed to the star took over. One of the most pure shooting strokes in the state as he pulls up with easy elevation knocking in shots on a consistent basis from mid-range and is a good three point shooter as well. Floater game and mixes in some slick passing on occasion. High-major player.
Foster Ogbonna Foster Ogbonna 6'4" | PF Rolling Meadows | 2023 State IL (Rolling Meadows)
Ogbonna is an undersized four that is capable of playing on the perimeter as well. He began each game by using his strength inside to overpower weaker opponents. More shake on the handles from mid-post than we thought. Mauls in traffic on the glass and plays with a high-end motor. D2 prospect right now.
Mark Nikolich-Wilson Mark Nikolich-Wilson 6'7" | C Rolling Meadows | 2023 State IL (Rolling Meadows)
Nikolich-Wilson is a big bodied five that has a lot of skill. Not the most athletic kid, but he rather gets the job done with his touch around the hoop along with excellent passing all over the floor. Ideal small college post.
Bryce Tillery Bryce Tillery 5'7" | PG Hillcrest | 2023 State IL (Hillcrest)
Tillery can drain shots at a high clip from the perimeter. Plus shooter that has a dynamic pull up jump shot along with mixing in floaters. Needs to improve as a passer to elevate stock. Pesky defender that brings toughness.
Matthew Moore Matthew Moore 6'7" | PF Hillcrest | 2023 State IL (Hillcrest)
Moore has the highest ceiling of any prospect on Hillcrest. Long and rangy 6’7” four with a good frame and athleticism. Shot blocking presence with good timing on that end. Missed a lot of bunnies inside. When he gets a better grasp on finishing he will be a prospect that low-majors start to take a serious look at.
Quentin Heady (Hillcrest)
Younger brother of Jakobi this angular wing is at his best putting it on the deck on straight line takes and converting in the paint off guards dribble penetration. One to watch moving forward.
Richard Barron Richard Barron 6'5" | SF St. Ignatius | 2023 State IL (St. Ignatius)
Excellent two days at RB for Barron. The strong bodied wing could be a two through four depending on the level and type of offense. He was the best we have seen him over the weekend being assertive and hunting his buckets. Made shots consistently from three and even mixed in few pull ups when the D collapsed on him. Took it baseline and used his body to shield defenders at the rim. Not the highest-level athlete and needs to improve as a defender, but if he plays the same at Ridgewood expect some offers to come in at the D1 level.
Jackson Kotecki Jackson Kotecki 6'9" | PF Saint Ignatius | 2023 State IL (St. Ignatius)
Kotecki is a skilled face up four with legit height that has a world of potential. Flashed a little bit of what he can do in spurts with a right handed hook shot, three, contesting on the perimeter, and more. Really needs to improve as a rebounder as he doesn’t contribute much there. The skill will keep him on the radar of low-D1 schools at his size.
Nashawn Holmes (Homewood Flossmoor)
Holmes is a 6’2” two guard that has a crisp jump shot. Makes pull up jumpers and threes. Good complimentary scorer for his HF team.
Prince Adams Prince Adams 6'7" | C Evanston | 2023 State IL (Evanston)
Adams was a player we were really looking forward to evaluating. He peaked our interest last year playing on a veteran team. Now the top prospect on the Wildkits he is a combo forward that snatches rebounds in traffic, can put it on the deck, and spaces the floor from three. Need to see more consistency throughout games. He is worth monitoring for sure though at the low-major level.
Jake Fiegen Jake Fiegen 6'3" | SG New Trier | 2023 State IL (New Trier)
Lights out shooter!! Did it all spring with Full Package and again with New Trier on Saturday including popping seven 3’s in one half. Quick and concise release from three with consistent mechanics each time. Would like to see him show more as an offensive threat either as a passer or off the bounce, but you can’t deny elite shooting.
Kaiden Space Kaiden Space 6'2" | SG St.Rita | 2023 State IL (St. Rita)
Space is the unsung prospect for St. Rita. The rising junior holds a couple D1 offers with more to come. Shot making combo guard that brings toughness and IQ to the table. He loves the floater game and competes on the defensive end.
Bryce Coleman Bryce Coleman 6'6" | SF Proviso East | 2023 State IL (St. Rita)
Top 10 junior is a big bodied wing that continues to fly under the radar of college coaches after his transfer along with missing the spring because of injury. What we like about him is the combination of physical tools and skill. Not too many wings do you see that have his strength along with being able to stretch the floor draining mid-range jumpers with ease. Mid-majors need to be on Coleman.
Dalen Davis Dalen Davis 6'0" | PG Whitney Young | 2023 State #167 Nation IL (Whitney Young)
Davis had a really nice weekend for the Dolphins. The 2023 lead guard is a high IQ floor general that can score when needed. What stood out the most over the weekend was how well he shot it. Best we have seen him as a shot maker draining mid-range ones at a really high rate while also stretching it to three consistently. Mixed in some coast to coast takes and was pesky as a defender at the point of attack. Holds multiple D1 offers.
Daniel Johnson Daniel Johnson 6'6" | SF Whitney Young | 2023 State #231 Nation IL (Whitney Young)
We were aggressive moving Johnson into the top 10 in our most recent update. He might have to go even higher if he keeps the progression we have seen up over the last six months. Really like what this long and rangy small forward brings to the table. Bouncy athlete with an incredibly feathery jump shot. Drained them from all over the floor off the catch with such ease. You combine that with his athleticism and this is a mid-major recruit all the way!
Mekhi Lowery (Oswego East)
Lowery is a long and rangy small forward that continues to rise after what he did this spring on the travel team circuit. Projectable wing that handles it including crossing his man really bad before finishing an acrobatic layup. Capable three point shooter that should continue to get even better as he shoots a good ball. Like what he brings as a shot blocker and multi positional defender. D2 right now with the chance to elevate.
Ahmad Henderson Ahmad Henderson 5'10" | PG Brother Rice | 2023 State #291 Nation IL (Brother Rice)
Henderson is only 5’9”, but wow is he a dynamic playmaker. Does it with both his scoring and distributing. Electric scorer with his super deep range on his three point shot. He hit four triples in the game we saw from well beyond the line. Also mixes in floaters and scoop shots as he has burst off the bounce weaving in between the defense. Lives in the paint. Passing flair with a good feel as a passer. Mid-major player.
Nick Niego Nick Niego 6'2" | SG Brother Rice | 2023 State IL (Brother Rice)
Plus shooter at the two guard spot. He compliments Henderson perfectly with how he can spot up when the defense collapses on Henderson. Quick and concise release. Should find a home at the D3 or NAIA level as a spot up shooter.
Jayden Watson (Brother Rice)
Watson is a new name as the 6’3” rangy forward ran the floor hard and presented projectability on both ends. Bit of a raw prospect, but definitely one to track.
