PH makes every effort to see as many players as possible in NorCal. We are receiving game video, but most of the time we’re in the gym seeing with our own eyes the prospects who stand out for their respective high school teams. Here’s a couple of 2022 prospects who have played good basketball during the season.
Jojo Murphy Jojo Murphy 6'1" | CG Piedmont | 2022 State CA-N 6’1 CG of Piedmont HS
Murphy is starting to get the recognition deserved as a combo guard who can really do some nice things on the court. He’s a smart player that recognizes his role at each position. He’s a willing passer with vision looking to effectively involve teammates at the top, yet is a consistent scorer on the wings, and off the ball. In 13 games he’s averaging 26.7 pts, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and is shooting 43% from 3.
Kyle Monk Kyle Monk 6'2" | SG Gregori | 2022 State CA-N 6’2 Combo Guard of Gregori HS
Doesn’t get the recognition he deserves during the high school season. Monk has been a consistent performer with his high school and club team. A fairly athletic guard that plays with some consistency on the court. A good handler, passer, and will rebound from the guard spot. He’ll attack in the open court. He has a good shot on the perimeter. In 8 games his numbers are 20.5 pts, and 4.0 rebounds.
Ethan Patterson Ethan Patterson 6'1" | PG Bradshaw Christian | 2022 State CA-N 6’1 Guard of Bradshaw Christian HS.
Patterson has a quality skill set, and has a certain amount of confidence he brings to the court. He’s can score the basket in multiple ways. He makes players around him better with the way he plays on the court. A good handler, who can knock down shots. He’s one to look out for in the upcoming Spring, and Summer Seasons. In 14 games he’s averaging 18.1 pts per game.
Brycen Shackelford Brycen Shackelford 6'5" | SF Folsom | 2022 State CA-N 6’5 Forward of Folsom.
A solid body competitor who’s still developing his skill set. He’s been working well in and around the post area. He has some work to do on the wings, his handling in open court is good. He’s a good mover with, or without the ball. His slashing, and cutting to the hoop produces buckets for his team, and he’ll finish around the basket. He has a good attack move with one or two dribbles within 12ft of the basket, his range is coming along he’ll shoot the 3’s. He has good length, and awareness to defend. In 14 games he’s averaging 16.5 points per game.
Mehtaj Mehrok Mehtaj Mehrok 6'7" | C Manteca | 2022 State CA-N 6’7 of Manteca HS.
Mehrok has been making steady progress since the last time we saw him play with his club team. He’s active, and a bit more aggressive in the post area. He’s an improved rebounder, and has started to make his presence felt in the paint on both ends. He’s willing to take some hits going after buckets in the paint. He’s improved his low post defense.
