A pair of 2024s who are already well established are the New Madrid County pair of 6’5″ Jadis Jones Jadis Jones 6'5" | SF New Madrid Central | 2024 State #248 Nation MO and 5’10″ B.J. Williamson B.J. Williamson 6'0" | PG New Madrid Central | 2024 State MO , who were All-State players during the 2021 season.
Here are a few more youngsters who caught my eye during the two days in Dexter.
2024
Gage Johnson 5’9″ Weaubleau: A 2024 point guard who played with toughness and very good pace. He consistently put pressure on the defense with his dribble penetration and determined drives to the basket. He also knocked down 3-pointers and did a good job distributing the basketball.
D.J. Long 5’9″ Mexico: The 2024 combo guard has some impressive games against some high-level competition during the event. When he wasn’t swishing those high-arching 3-pointers from the wing, the lefty was slicing and dicing his way through traffic for buckets in the lane.
2025
T.J. Farmer 6’0″ Charleston: The stellar program at Charleston has another future standout on the horizon in this talented combo guard. He displayed very good poise to go along with his skills as he helped the Bluejays to the championship of their bracket. He has good quickness and he can create his shot on offense.
Trey Williams Jr. 5’10″ Vashon: In one pool-play game where coach Tony Irons played all of his young players exclusively, Trey took advantage with an excellent performance, especially when it came to shooting the basketball. In addition to his shooting, he added good quickness and defensive pressure on the ball.
Dierr Hill Jr. 5’10″ Vashon: Another talented young guard who looked impressive in the minutes that he received. The young lefty has a strong body and he competed hard on the defensive end. He also knocked down a pair of big 3-pointers late in one game to help his team win.
Devin Harrington 6’3″ Alton: I stumbled across this young talent while watching a game in the side gym. He had good size and length and he displayed a nice stroke from 3-point range. His skill set was good and he played with a lot of confidence when he was out there. It wasn’t until after the game that the coach told me he was an incoming freshman. Very nice.
