Justin King Justin King 6'4" | PG Mascoutah | 2022 State IL (Mascoutah – 2022)
The top prospect in the gym played like it throughout the day. Showed well in the drills portion including his much improved consistency on his jumper. Once the games started he lit the gym up. At 6’4” King has great size and length at the lead guard spot. Creative ball handler off the bounce that got to the rim where he finished well with both hands. Slick ball handler in traffic that lost it a few times on the gather, but not much else you can knock him on during this outing. Passed it very well especially when getting in the teeth of the defense finding his big men and shooters. Looked the part of a mid-major recruit.
Saxton Hoepker Saxton Hoepker 6'6" | PF Nashville | 2022 State IL (Nashville – 2022)
Without question the biggest stock riser of the day was Hoepker. We have seen the Bears quite a few times this spring and Hoepker hasn’t shown the things we saw on Monday. At 6’6” he has legit small forward skills being able to put it on the deck for scores, running the court with ease, and knocking in threes at a nice clip especially late in the day. Also showed athletic pop with a few dunks including one off the backboard. Played with a lot of confidence and it translated over into production.
Wilson Lodge (Saxony Lutheran, MO – 2022)
Lodge is a well built 6’5” four man that plays with toughness around the hoop. Good area rebounder. What we really like about him and will give him value at the small college level is how he can consistently knock in shots from mid-range and three.
Ty Lenhardt Ty Lenhardt 6'3" | PG Waterloo | 2022 State IL (Waterloo – 2022)
Lenhardt was just ok during the drills portion of the day, but he turned it up several notches in the games. Shot it very well from deep both off the catch and pulling up including a nice step back triple. Biggest value comes when he is knocking in shots.
Jack Seibert Jack Seibert 6'5" | SG Mascoutah | 2022 State IL (Mascoutah – 2022)
Seibert has had a productive spring for the Illinois Bears making himself a priority small college prospect. Big and strong wing at 6’4” 205 pounds that plays with a lot of physicality and toughness. Hit a couple threes and scored in transition off the bounce. Lost it a few times on the gather.
Cameron Baker (Western Reserve, OH – 2022)
Baker came quite a distance from Ohio/Michigan for the event. He is a smaller point guard at 5’8” that has a stocky build. Was mostly a scorer as he consistently knocked in pull up jumpers from the mid-range in transition and displayed crisp ball handling.
Grant Fridley Grant Fridley 6'1" | PG Wesclin | 2023 State IL (Trenton Wesclin – 2023)
Fridley was the top passer in the gym. The Trenton Wesclin rising junior point guard is a slick ball handler that has an advanced feel for the game. He does it in both the half court and transition. Sees one play ahead all the time finding cutters and shooters. As a scorer he had multiple slick takes and a solid pull up game. D2s should keep him on their radar early in the process.
Cade Altadonna Cade Altadonna 6'0" | PG Highland | 2023 State IL (Highland – 2023)
Altadonna struggled to find his usual touch from distance on the day, but we absolutely love this kids competitiveness. He was excellent in drill work early in the day and showed passing in the games.
Mcgrady Noyes Mcgrady Noyes 6'4" | SF Triad | 2023 State IL (Triad – 2023)
Noyes looked taller than we remembered as he was every bit of 6’4” with good strength. He was most effective as a slasher putting it on the ground and getting through traffic for scores at the cup.
Jordan Lewis (Belleville Althoff – 2023)
Lewis is a 5’8” point guard that brought athleticism getting to the rim with a quick burst. Pushed in the open floor finishing with scoop shots and runners.
Noah Ganter (Red Bud – 2023)
Ganter flashed at times in the scrimmages during the afternoon knocking in a couple jumpers.
Cole Buckingham (West Frankfort – 2023)
Buckingham is a lengthy 6’2” shooting guard that has a wiry build. He was at his best spotting up as a shooter during the games.
Mason Shubert (Breese Central – 2024)
First extensive look at Shubert and we liked what we saw out of the Breese Central 6’1” combo guard. Smooth ball handler that is shifty in the open floor. Clean looking jump shot, but most of his damage was done off the bounce.
Owen Treat (Vienna – 2024)
Treat brings a lot of swag to the guard spot for his team. Shoots it with a ton of confidence from beyond the arc. Made a handful of triples throughout the day along with some 15 footers. Flashed passing flair as well. One to track.
Seth Karnes (Waltonville – 2024)
Karnes lit up the nets in the early set of game hitting one after another from beyond the arc. I think he made four or five in a row to start the day off. Smaller point guard that is a shooting specialist.
Aiden Hinton (Carterville – 2024)
Hinton is a 6’2” small forward that plays as a post player almost. Physically developed kid that does the majority of his damage in transition and around the hoop.
Seth Macke (Trenton Wesclin – 2024)
Macke is a thick bodied 6’5” 250 pound five man that struggled in drill work, but once the games got going you can see where the value is. Nice hook shot and was efficient around the hoop. Mid-range shot went down and he rebounds in his area.
Drew Barrington (Carterville – 2025)
Barrington was the lone 2025 prospect at the event. The Carterville 5’9” lead guard was most effective as a distributor. Got it going as the day went along in the games dishing the rock.
