Which players could see the biggest boost in their recruitment this summer?
Let’s look into it…
Brenen Lorient Brenen Lorient 6'8" | PF Calvary Christian | 2022 State FL – Calvary Christian Academy
2022 Brenen Lorient Brenen Lorient 6'8" | PF Calvary Christian | 2022 State FL has been a hot prospect as of late with mid-major programs. The 6-foot-9 power forward has offers from Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson, Murray State, UIC, Middle Tennessee, Florida Atlantic and UNC Wilmington. His length and three-level scoring ability should bolster his interest in front of college coaches. The 3-star prospect averaged nearly 17 points 8.2 rebounds per game for Forest High School last season. Lorient runs with Team Florida on the Adidas circuit. His subsequent arrival to the Eagles roster should also increase his stock moving into the fall.

might be the biggest riser in the state. At one point, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard had offers from LSU and Western Kentucky. As the old saying goes, that was then, this is now. Cherenfant has since racked up offers from Memphis, South Florida, Iona, Appalachian State and Florida Atlantic. He is now listed as a 4-star prospect and continues to impress during the live period. I think Cherenfant’s mid-range and overall shooting extension on the floor has vastly improved. He already has the length and athleticism to get to his spot and finish at the rim. Cherenfant has received interest from programs like Georgia, Florida, Stanford and Baylor, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Ohio State and Illinois. I would expect P-5 programs to come calling shortly.
Aidan Abell Aidan Abell 6'6" | SG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL – Westminster Academy
2022 Aidan Abell Aidan Abell 6'6" | SG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL has “instant offense” written all over him with his ability to shoot the basketball. He is one of those prospects that can lift his team back into a game after knocking down 47 percent of his long range attempts last season. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard recently impressed at the GBCA live camp with his size and high release point. Moreover, his quickness to get off a shot is difficult to contest. Abell dropped 28 points and hit six 3-pointers at an event in Kentucky against Wheeler. He will be running with Team Breakdown in July. The 3-star prospect holds an offer from Stetson. However, his interest remains with at least 15 D-1 programs.
Christian Reid Christian Reid 6'5" | SF Mater Lakes | 2024 State FL – Mater Lakes Academy
I am high on 2024 Christian Reid Christian Reid 6'5" | SF Mater Lakes | 2024 State FL after finishing last season with Miami SLAM. I talked with a well-respected high school coach in South Florida who likes his size out of the backcourt. Reid is 6-foot-4 and weighs about 200 pounds. He averaged 15.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while shooting 58 percent from the floor the Titans. I think his transfer and exposure to better competition will open up avenues for him.
Justin Johnson Justin Johnson 6'7" | PF Doral | 2023 #229 Nation FL – Doral Academy
The current offers for 2023 Justin Johnson Justin Johnson 6'7" | PF Doral | 2023 #229 Nation FL stands at two. The 6-foot-7 wing received one from Georgetown back in May and picked up another from Florida Gulf Coast this June. I guess I’m a bit surprised based on what I have seen from him. Johnson’s athleticism at his size his highly impressive. He averaged over 18 points and nearly eight rebounds per game last season for the Firebirds. Johnson is money off the dribble and plays like a point forward. Look for teammate Shon Abaev to garner more offers as well. He is a 6-foot-4 guard that can knock down shots at a high rate. Abaev holds a lone offer currently from Florida Gulf Coast. He is the younger brother of former Florida Gulf Coast/Austin Peay guard Eli Abaev.
