Continue ReadingThe Philly High School Live sessions have become one of the most anticipated events of the annual June recruiting period. Organized by John Mosco (Archbishop Wood Head Coach and Andre Noble (Imhotep Charter Head Coach), Philly HS Live (Session I) once again featured a field that is absolutely loaded with talented prospects.
Yesterday we posted Part I of our review focused on southeastern Pennsylvania prospects who performed well at the Philly HS Live (Session I) event. Today, we present Part II of that review.
Jaheim Bethea Jaheim Bethea 6'0" | PG Math, Civics & Sciences | 2022 State PA – 6’0” / Senior / Math Civics & Sciences / Combo Guard: A high basketball IQ scoring guard, Bethea was a huge part of MCS run to the PIAA state semis and he continues to turn heads this spring/summer. At Philly HS Live Bethea proved once again he can score at all three levels. Additionally, Bethea also showed he has great feel for when to distribute the rock to an open teammate. If he posts an impressive July, the offers will come pouring in for this high level prospect.
Jaden Colzie Jaden Colzie 6'0" | PG Plymouth Whitemarsh | 2024 State PA – 5’9” / Sophomore / Plymouth Whitemarsh / Combo Guard: A starter this past season for a Colonials squad that ran up a 13-1 Covid season record, Colzie was very impressive this past weekend. He owns elite quickness and a feel for changing speeds at the right time. He scored the ball by driving to the cup and shooting the three. Colzie’s scoring abilities are complimented by his outstanding court vision. He is a tenacious player who exudes extreme confidence in his skill set. Colzie holds offer from North Texas and St. Bonaventure.
Khalil Farmer Khalil Farmer PG Roman Catholic | 2022 State PA – 6’4” / Senior / Roman Catholic / Shooting Guard: One of the most sought after shooting guards in Pennsylvania (Nearly 43% on 3PAs this winter & 2nd team 6A All-State selection), Framer continued to show his filthy scoring abilities this weekend by hanging 20 points on St Thomas Aquinas and 17 points on Bergen Catholic in an OT win. Farmer is a tremendous offensive player who can get buckets at the rim, in the mid-range or from deep. Just give him the pill and clear out.
Liam Joyce Liam Joyce 6'6" | PF Allentown Central Catholic | 2022 State PA – 6’6” / Junior / Allentown Central Catholic / Power Forward: Starting at the elbows or free throw line extended areas, Joyce was relentless at driving the ball to the cup. Joyce also exhibited the size and footwork to establish position on the blocks and then score with either hand. Additionally, he does an excellent job on the boards where he frequently converts on second chance opportunities. Watch for Joyce to dominate foes this July on the grassroots circuit while playing for the L&L Running Rebels.
Naji Reid Naji Reid 6'0" | SG Joshua Christian Academy | 2022 State PA – 6’0” / Junior / Imhotep / Combo Guard: A three point assassin (4-6 on 3PAs vs First Love Christian and 8 threes in second game), Reid is the perfect complimentary player to Imhotep stars Rahmir Barno Rahmir Barno 5'10" | CG Imhotep Charter | 2023 State #223 Nation PA and Justin Edwards Justin Edwards 6'6" | PF Imhotep Charter | 2023 State #3 Nation PA . He displayed excellent movement without the ball and can score points in a very efficient manner. Reid also showed that he has an excellent grasp of team defense and can through the passing lanes for a steal or deflection.
Danny Rosenblum Danny Rosenblum 6'0" | PG Radnor | 2023 State PA – 5’11” / Junior / Radnor / Point Guard: A laser focused lead guard who played a crafty, limited mistakes brand of basketball, Rosenblum help guide Radnor to a 2-0 record at Philly HS Live. Rosenblum exceled at using the dribble to get to his mid-range game or all the way to the tin. He also exhibited a solid three point shot. A well rounded player, Rosenblum competes hard at the defensive end, especially as the on-ball defender.
Michael Walz Michael Walz 6'11" | PF Conestoga | 2022 State PA – 6’8” / Senior / Conestoga / Power Forward: After a tremendous run on the spring grassroots circuit, Walz is arguably the hottest big man prospect in southeastern PA and at Philly HS Live his meteoric rise continued. A modern basketball era big, Walz can score on the interior with both hands or as he showed this weekend, step out to the arc and drain threes. He owns multiple DI offer including one from Richmond that he picked up this past weekend.
Jake Warren – 6’10” / Sophomore / Downingtown West / Power Forward: A recent transfer from Archbishop Carroll (PA), Philly HS Live was Warren’s first runs with his new team. He more then held his own if front of 100s of college coaches. On offense Warren showed excellent mechanics on his jump shot and flashed the ability to pass out of the post when double teamed. At the other end he served as quality rim protector and dominated the glass. Warren is still raw, but his upside is tantalizing.
