The prestigious camp was NBA certified which meant NBA scouts and front office members were allowed to evaluate. Below is a look at five prospects from the 2023 class that stood out.
Taylor Bol Bowen | 6’9 | New Hampshire
Arguably the biggest stock riser from Pangos All-American Camp, Bowen continuously turned heads throughout the three day event. Bowen showed off his versatility in scoring the basketball showing he is a true three level scorer. In one of the top individual performances from the camp that I saw, Bowen finished a perfect 8/8 from the field finishing with 18 points and was a no-brainer choice for the “Top 30 Cream of the Crop Game.” Since the camp, Bowen has received offers from UConn and Penn State.
Tyler Smith Tyler Smith 6'9" | SF Overtime Elite | 2023 TX | 6’9 | Ft. Bend, TX
Smith was one of the top shooters I saw during Pangos All-American Camp as he was a reliable shot maker for his team each time I watched him. Smith is a lefty that has a smooth shot and is capable of making shots for his team either off the dribble or from a catch and shoot opportunity. Look for the 2023 wing to have a big July and start to become a priority for a ton of college coaches.
KJ Lewis | 6’4 | El Paso, TX
Lewis immediately caught my attention on the first day of Pangos All-American Camp because of his effort defensively. At a high level camp like Pangos, defense can be overlooked but Lewis brought high intensity on that end of the floor. Lewis is a high level athlete that plays with a good motor and is turning out to be a very intriguing prospect from the state of Texas.
Javonte “JJ” Taylor | 6’8 | Chicago, IL
Taylor was one of the five 2023 prospects to make the “Top 30 Cream of the Crop Game “ at Pangos All-American Camp and for good reason. Taylor is super bouncy standing at 6 ’8 and showed that he can be a high level rim protector because of his size and ability to time his jump on blocked shots. Offensively he can hit shots from all over the court and at a consistent level. Expect the blue bloods to take a close look at Taylor come July. Taylor earned a share of co-mvp after the “Top 30 Cream of the Crop Game.”
Baye Fall Baye Fall 6'11" | C Luthern Christian | 2023 State #13 Nation CO | 6’11 | Denver, CO
Fall was the other 2023 prospect that shared co-mvp honors with Taylor. Fall, who is 6’11, was another prospect that is ultra bouncy that allows him to be productive around the rim offensively and a factor on the glass. Fall showed a good ability of getting to the rim and adjusting to what the defense was throwing at him in the low post. There is a lot to like with Fall going forward as he is already regarded as a top prospect in high school basketball regardless of class.
