We have 225 players ranked for the summer edition of Preps Hoops Pennsylvania’s updated rankings. Included on our list are these fine ballers who can fill up the stat sheet every time they step on the floor, which led to these guys being top WPIAL leading scorers for their teams. Let’s take a long glance at some of the main performers for the freshman class.
Joseph Roth Joseph Roth 6'4" | PF Ellwood City | 2024 State PA / 6’5 / power forward / Ellwood City High School
This talented freshman started every game during high school season and helped his team win a WPIAL championship in the 3A classification. He plays extremely well in the post offensively and is a solid rebounder on defense. This young man has begun to develop a nice mid-range jumper to go along with the rest of his arsenal. Joseph put up 18 points a game while calculating many double/doubles this winter.
Terek Crosby Terek Crosby 6'2" | SG Yough | 2024 State PA / 6’1 / shooting guard / Yough High School
An athletic shooting guard that can “light it up” from a variety of spots on the floor during a game. He likes to push the ball in transition and finish creatively at the basket as well. Also, his quick hands and all-out hustle on defense cause havoc for his opponents in the half-court set. Terek averaged close to 18 points a game this high school season, while still being able to distribute the ball to his teammates for a good amount of assists.
Vernon Settles / 6’2 / wing forward / Elizabeth Forward High School
A long, lanky, skilled all-around basketball player with the ability to create scoring opportunities for himself on the fast break and during set plays. He plays with quickness and athleticism which make him an extreme matchup problem on the offensive end of the floor. Also, he has a quality jumper from the three-point arc and shoots well from the free-throw line. Vernon averaged about 17 points per game this year.
Brody McQuiston Brody McQuiston 6'3" | SF Shenango | 2024 State PA / 6’3 / small forward / Shenango High School
The high basketball IQ and court awareness of this young performer make him like a coach on the floor during his team’s games. He has developed a quality perimeter shot with a quick release while having the talent level to drive to the basket from the wing position. His strong build helps him on the glass as well. Brody’s 16 points per game were awesome while helping his team improve each week during the scholastic schedule.
Royce Parham Royce Parham 6'8" | PF Western Reserve Academy | 2024 State #53 Nation OH / 6’7 / power forward / North Hills High School
This skilled and fundamentally sound big man has the overall talent level to perform well in the post using his excellent moves and footwork. Another quality aspect of his game is the manner in which he protects the rim with thunderous blocked shots. He runs the floor like a track star and likes to fill the lane of the break with strong finishes at the hoop. Royce averaged 15 points per game this year and had a few triple-doubles on the stat sheet.
Eli Teslovich Eli Teslovich 6'1" | CG Shady Side Academy | 2024 State PA / 6’0 / combo guard / Shady Side Academy High School
Despite his young age, this combo guard has the basketball knowledge and fundamentals to provide quality leadership for his team during every game. His skillset is balanced between strong offensive production and tough defensive effort. He scores in a variety of ways from many spots on the floor, while still distributing the ball to open team members. Eli put up about 15 points a game this season, with a great assist to turnover ratio.
This high-profile scoring group of boys had an excellent high school season and they are continuing to perform at a top-level this summer. Look for them to be filling up the nets again next winter.
