Ohio 2024 rankings debut
In this article:
We made our first 2024 rankings for the state of Ohio. This is an initial list with 24 prospects ranked and a group of prospects also on the watch list. There is a lot of time for these rankings to change as players develop and improve. All Ohio Red 15U has a heavy influence on the top 15 with eight players on our list. There’s some serious size on our list with centers taking the first and third spots, six centers are ranked in the group of 24 prospects. Saint Ignatius and Trotwood-Madison are the only schools with multiple players on our list. Southwest Ohio has four of the top five players in our rankings. The top ranked prospect is Tyler McKinley Tyler McKinley 6'9" | PF Winton Woods | 2024 State #78 Nation OH from Walnut Hills. The 6’8 C is a force on both ends and just played the best basketball we’ve seen him play at the Oak Hills shootout. Calvin Little Calvin Little 6'2" | PG Garfield Heights | 2024 State OH is the second ranked prospect, Little is a very athletic lead guard who passes the ball well. Raleigh Burgess Raleigh Burgess 6'10" | C Sycamore | 2024 State #130 Nation OH comes in at number three and might be one of the biggest surprises for those outside the Cincy area. Jonathan Powell Jonathan Powell 6'5" | SG Centerville | 2024 State #164 Nation OH is fourth, his huge game in the state final four was eye popping. Mason Shrout Mason Shrout 6'4" | SF Preble Shawnee | 2024 State OH comes in at number five, we’re fairly certain Shrout was the leading scorer in OHSAA among Freshman last season. Make sure to subscribe to Prep Hoops Ohio to see the rest of the list. We’re going to be continuing to work in the 2024 class because we know we haven’t come close to seeing every kid. In the next two years many players will get added to our rankings and some will climb and some will fall. As always it’s important to note that every player in this class has a long time until they will be stepping on foot of a college campus to play. It’s a marathon and not a sprint and that’s the same process we take when ranking players as well.
