Here are some of the Top-100 returners in the area (in order of rank):
18 Kaleb Becker Kaleb Becker 6'4" | SF Abilene | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-4 small forward, Abilene:
Becker was the leader of one of the top 4A teams last season. For his work he was honored as a third-team 4A performer. Becker is a long, powerful athlete who averaged 16.6 points and 6.9 rebounds. Abilene loses some good seniors, so Becker will be challenged to take on an even bigger role next year.
59 Brady Klotz Brady Klotz 6'4" | SF Royal Valley | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-4 small forward, Royal Valley:
Summer coaches have raved about the work put in by Klotz this summer. He’s a big, powerful post who can pop out to hit shots from the outside. He pounds the glass and hustles at both ends. He averaged 12.9 points and 8.3 boards as a junior. His production may jump next year with star teammate Nahcs Wahwassuck Nahcs Wahwassuck 6'5" | CG Royal Valley | 2022 State KS heading to a private school program in Missouri.
68 Koen Hula Koen Hula 6'4" | PF Council Grove | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-4 power forward, Council Grove:
Hula had a bit of a disappointing junior season as Council Grove scuffled. But there’s no question that Hula has a unique stature and skill set. He’s a big, powerful guy who moves really well and has great coordination. He averaged 12.8 points and 8.3 rebounds last season, en route to honorable mention 3A honors. He is a tough, team-oriented guy during the club season who stands out among men his size.
70 Mason Thomas Mason Thomas 6'4" | SF Royal Valley | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-3 small forward, Royal Valley (pictured):
Thomas is a gritty, tough forward who does the dirty work for the Panthers. But he also has a nice set of skills, and is an athlete who can get out and run, face the basket, and shoot from the outside. He does yeoman’s work for the Kansas Hoggs in the summer too, guarding bigs and crashing the boards.
74 Emmitt Jueneman Emmitt Jueneman 6'1" | SF Hanover | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-1 small forward, Hanover:
A state champion, Juenemann is listed as a small forward because of the role he plays on his small school squad. Hanover was so deep and talented, Jueneman could play a variety of spots, and often turned the game over to his teammates because of big leads. Still, his stats are impressive: 18.3 points, 4.0 assists and 3.6 steals per game. Club season with Showtime 2022 is a good opportunity for Jueneman to play more of a combo-guard role and compete against the best in Kansas.
75 Trever Quaney Trever Quaney 6'8" | C Burlingame | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-8 center, Burlingame:
One of the biggest players in the small school ranks, Quaney earned second-team in 1A Div. 1. He took a big leap in the rankings after demonstrating his talents last school year. He averaged 16.3 points and 11.9 boards, blocked a lot of shots and dominated in the post at both ends.
86 Fred Criqui Fred Criqui 6'7" | C St. Marys | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-7 center, St. Marys:
A riser during the club season, Criqui matches up well with a lot of the best bigs at tournaments. He has a solid post game, getting hook shots and turn-arounds off against quality competition. His stats don’t always pop out in his work for St. Marys, but he is the dominant big man that the Bears’ guards revolve around.
88 Kurtis Beck Kurtis Beck 6'4" | PF Nemaha Central | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-4 power forward, Nemaha Central:
Beck is a long, lean forward who can do a lot of things at the position. He’s a smooth, agile player who can handle the ball and make plays from end to end. He blocks shots and collects a lot of rebounds. And he maneuvers through the lane to catch and score, and he can face the goal and make things happen.
