First Team:
Grayson Grove– 6’6″ forward- Central MN Cougars/Alexandria
Grayson might have been the most complete prospect at the 15u level that I saw the whole weekend. He has great size and mobility for someone of his age, and his coordination is just as impressive. He does a great job of getting to his spots when he gets the ball in the post and finishes well around the rim. He’s a very good screener both on and off the ball, After the screen, he can either roll or pop as he showed he can step out and shoot it from three and beyond. On the other end, he shows great timing as he had multiple weakside rotation blocks. I would like to see him develop more comfort finishing with his left hand and turning over his right shoulder in the post, but those things will come as he continues to play. Overall, Grayson is a very exciting prospect to watch for in the next few years.
Hunter Lorenson– 5’10 guard- MN Heat Bohrer/Lake City
Hunter is a prototype point guard that can do it all. He has great confidence in his ability to handle the basketball and he uses it to get to his spots efficiently. He attacks the basket with poise and does a good job of finishing strong, or if you cut off the drive he has the ability to elevate into his smooth pull-up jumper. Hunter separates himself with his passing and leadership. He had plenty of pocket passers to teammates who were cutting or rolling, and he always got the ball ahead to open teammates in transition. I’d like for him to develop more confidence in his outside shot, but I think this will come along as he gets older since the mechanics on his midrange are so good already. Lake City has had some solid players go through their program in recent years, and Hunter showed that he could be the next one to walk in those footsteps.
Marley Baa-Yeboah– 6’3″ wing- D1MN Prospects/Lakeville South
Marley’s D1 prospects team had multiple close games on their way to a championship, and he always found ways to make a play down the stretch that helped his team win. he showed the early stages of being a three-level scorer as he does a great job of attacking the basket and finishing through contact, has good touch on his runners and pullups in the midrange, and showed that he was comfortable shooting the three. He also showed off his athleticism as he had multiple putbacks and blocked a few shots throughout the games that I watched. The next step for Marley is to get better at playing without his hands on defense so that he can avoid fouls.
Brevin Stoa– 6’2″ wing- MN Comets Elite/Hawley
Brevin has a really well-rounded offensive skill set for a player his age. He has good balance on his jumpshot and always has his hands ready before the catch. He seems to be one of those players that is always in attack mode and is always looking to score, but he doesn’t do it by forcing shots. He did little things like run the right lane in transition or crash on the weak side for an offensive rebound. His patience combined with his confidence demonstrates that he knows how to play the game and play it well. Brevin’s next step is to develop more comfort with handling the ball. He has the shotmaking and finishing skills to be a very good player, but developing a better handle will allow him to be even more versatile than he already is.
Isaiah Johnson– 6’5″ forward/wing- Northstar Titans Brodeur/Osseo
Isaiah normally plays with Team Tyus Howard Pulley, but he hopped on Northstar Titans Brodeur for this weekend. he has great size and is already a great leaper for a kid his age. He had plenty of strong attacks after freezing his opponent with a jab on the perimeter. Once he got to the rim, it seemed like defenders just bounced off him as he finished through contact with ease. He showed that he’s willing to put the ball on the floor in transition and even went coast-to-coast a few times. He uses his big frame and leaping ability to block and alter shots as well as rebound. Isaiah’s next step is to become a more confident shooter as this will force defenders to step up which will open up more driving lanes.
Second Team:
Max Mogelson– 6’4″ forward- MN Select Altenhofen/Henry Sibley
Mason Klabo– 5’11 guard- Team Tyus 2025 Black/Fargo Davies
Waylon Erlandson– 6’2″ wing- D1MN Prospects/Edina
Jonathan Mekonnen– 6’6″ forward- Minnesota Heat PBJ/Eastview
Shaun Wysocki– 6’2″ wing- MN Lightning Lyga/Rochester Century
Third Team:
Khijohnn Cummings– 6’0″ guard- MN Heat Fleury/Coon Rapids
Cal Worley– 6’3″ forward- D1MN Prospects/Minnetonka
Caymen Gebheim– 6’2″ forward- Minnesota Heat Bohrer/Somerset
Dawson Bunke– 6’5″ forward- MN Select Altenhofen/Rushford-Peterson
CJ Banks– 5’7″ guard- Team Tyus 2025 Black/Benilde
