They guys have been playing against stiff competition, playing with great teammates, competing in cool venues, and they are making memories that they will never forget.
Team Notes from coach Ross McGregor:
“Season assessment – So far the season has been really good for the boys playing excellent competition. We had a couple of performances below our expectations leaving 4 games out there where we didn’t perform well. However, overall the team has been playing good basketball and it seems each game we have a different player step up and lead the team whether it be in the scoring column or just making the right basketball plays to win games. This makes it hard for other teams to key on one or two guys. These 3 players have been our most consistent performers all summer on both ends of the floor and expect these 3 to continue to improve as well as their teammates.”
ND Attack Standouts:
Comments from coach Ross McGregor:
Landon Moser Landon Moser 6'1" | PG Northern Cass | 2024 State ND (2024) |6-0 G| Northern Cass – Landon has been excellent all summer and when the game has been on the line he has been at his best hitting 3 game winners! He continues to be one of the better point guards this summer with pushing the tempo and not letting ball pressure bother him, decision making, and getting our offense set and does not turn the ball over. His 3 point shot is very good and getting better with executing the pick and roll and is scoring at all 3 levels. He is one of our vocal team leaders and keeps being an excellent on-ball defender making other guards uncomfortable forcing turnovers whether for himself or his teammates. Has the ability in the future to be a serious knock-down shooter from 3 and with the midrange pull-up jumper. Look forward to Landon playing and contributing major varsity minutes all year for Northern Cass.
Keyton McGregor Keyton McGregor 6'1" | SG West Fargo | 2024 ND 2024 |6-1 G| West Fargo – Keyton has really stepped up his game this summer and he can play either the 1, 2, or 3. His biggest asset is on the defensive end, making guards/wings uncomfortable with their dribble and getting hands in the passing lanes deflecting passes, and getting steals. He is assigned to guard the other team’s best perimeter offensive player and he rebounds really well for a guard. He is one of the vocal leaders on the team and just makes winning basketball plays on both sides of the ball that always does not show up on the stat sheet and is a high-energy player. Offensively, he has been really good in transition and also slashing to the hoop on dribble drives and has a nice pull-up jumper that he should utilize more. He is getting more confident with his 3 point shot and hitting it consistently. He should find himself pushing for JV minutes for the West Fargo Packers this coming year.
Tony Leal Tony Leal 6'5" | PF West Fargo | 2024 ND (2024) |6-4 F| West Fargo – Tony has been a steady force for us in the middle. Has shown his versatility with being able to play inside out and has developed an excellent pull up jumper from 15-17 feet and can extend out and hit the 3 ball efficiently. Has had games where he has dominated both ends offensively and defensively and the last 2 tournaments we are starting to see that effort consistently game to game and is playing at and above the rim. Needs to continue to develop counter moves in the post and if he can develop that with his size and strength he will be even more difficult to handle in the post. He has been good offensively with the pick and roll and a really good offensive rebounder giving us extra opportunities. I would expect him to play a lot of JV minutes for the West Fargo Packers this coming season with continued development. Will be a real nice player to keep track of this upcoming basketball season to watch his progression.
