Several organizations hosted events around the city, including West Coast Elite’s Vegas Memorial Day Classic, and Cal Elite Basketball’s West Coast Smoke. Several players did a good job of putting themselves on the radar. In this article, we take a look at the top Sleepers from the event.
Souleymane Barro 6’7 PF Vegas Elite 2023 – Size is always at a premium and Barro has that. A high ceiling type player that plays for a good 2A program in Utah. Barro is an athletic interior presence, that impacts games with low post defense and rebounding.
Andrew Fielder 6’9 C DIB 2023 – Fielder is a skilled 4 man that’s a better than average athlete. He steps out a little and stretches the floor and can score with his back to the basket. Fielder is a solid big man prospect that will probably be on someone’s radar at the conclusion of July.
Tyler Shipp Tyler Shipp 6'5" | SF Foothill | 2022 ID 6’7 SF Henderson Knights 2022 – Showed a ton of skill at the High Academic camp. The fact that he’s a high academic recruit goes a long way. Shipp has the type of size small colleges are looking for, and his playmaking skills give him a chance to be a highly productive 3 man.
Kyle Lemke Kyle Lemke 6'9" | C Dixie | 2024 State UT 6’7 C Flight 2024 – Lemke makes both my stockriser and sleeper list. It’s appropriate for a high production player like himself. The fundamental 5 is a quality rebounder, and can finish around the rim on putbacks and with his back to the basket.
Jalen Foy Jalen Foy 6'5" | SF Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 6’5 SF Hard 2 Guard 2022 (featured image) – Foy’s physical transformation over the year has gone a long way. 16 months ago he was a 250 LB standstill shooter. Today he is a lean, fluid wing, that makes plays for his team.
