Several organizations hosted events around the city, including West Coast Elite’s Vegas Memorial Day Classic, and Cal Elite Basketball’s West Coast Smoke. With the new rankings only a few months away, many players used these events as one last evaluation opportunity. Recently legendary scout Van Coleman educated me on the importance of the 6-minute evaluation, allowing scouts to quickly analyze players, athletic ability, skill, and fundamentals. In this article, a follow-up to vol 1, we provide our 6-minute evals of local players from this weekend.
Isaiah Belch Isaiah Belch 6'4" | SG Foothill | 2022 State NV : 6’3 SF Henderson Knights
Athleticism: C Decent agility, and footspeed, but does not play above the rim.
Skill: B Underatted skill set, passes well, shoots the ball naturally.
Fundamentals: C+ Plays off two feet, delivers accurate passes to cutters.
Jalen Foy Jalen Foy 6'5" | SF Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 6’5 SF Hard 2 Guard (#15PHN 2022)
Athleticism: B- Foy moves well for a guy his size, He’s improved his body over the last 16 months and is a much more fluid player.
Skill: B Good shooting skills, with the ability to create for teammates
Fundamentals: C Needs continued consistency in areas like blocking out, triple-threat attack, and footwork.
Tyler Shipp Tyler Shipp 6'5" | SF Foothill | 2022 ID 6’6 SF Henderson Knights
Athleticism: B Runs the floor well, and has some bounce.
Skill: B Has face-up four small ball 4 skills.
Fundamentals: C Like to see continued improvement in decent fundamentals, but has good playmaking skills for his position.

Athleticism: B+ Sneaky good R&J athlete
Skill: B- Good shooter that rebounds his position
Fundamentals: C+ Needs to continue to improve on shot prep and release speed.

Athleticism: C Middle of the pack in R&J ability.
Skill: B Advanced shooter, with range and quick release
Fundamentals: B Good shot prep and textbook form on his jumper, are his strongest.
