Treysen Eaglestaff Treysen Eaglestaff 6'5" | SF Bismark | 2022 State ND of Bismarck (2022). Eaglestaff once again shot the basketball extremely well and did it confidently like we’ve seen all spring. At his size (6’5, 6’6) schools love a player that can shot and guard a forward which is the role that Treysen will play. The best part about Eaglestaff is that it hasn’t mattered to him that the talent he’s with, and facing is high level, he continues to confidently knock down shots routinely. North Dakota was there watching and ACU has offered as well, he could see more D1 opportunity coming his way as most of the Summit League was there watching.
Caden Hinker Caden Hinker 6'6" | PF Mitchell | 2022 State SD of Mitchell (2022). Of all the Dakota kids at the event I think Hinker helped himself the most. When you hit four threes in the first game and follow that by making 1-2 in the games that followed, schools will take notice. The photo of this article shows that release that so many college coaches will remember. If Hinker can continue to shoot the ball the way we saw this weekend, and play that intelligent power forward game both with back to the bucket, and facing the basket 15 feet and out, more opportunity will come his way.
Gus Hurlburt Gus Hurlburt 6'9" | PF Enderlin | 2022 State ND of Enderlin (2022). What I love about Gus is that he makes opportunities for himself with his effort. Guards aren’t passing the ball? Then Gus ran to the rim to get his own chances with offensive boards. Finally get the ball after a ball screen? Gus attacked his man to the cup for a couple scores this weekend. His effort led to defensive boards, defensive stops, and good plays despite the guards not passing the ball all that much.
JT Rock of Sioux Falls Lincoln (2024). In the long run, this event is likely the spot that put Rock on the map for future opportunity. His name was brought up by everybody as a player that will likely be heard from in a big way as a prospect at a later date. Rock has a nice touch and he really moves well at his seven foot size. Good passer too that was a consistent factor on both ends. As he physically matures and becomes even more comfortable we could see him listed as a nationally ranked prospect quickly.
Jeremiah Sem Jeremiah Sem 6'3" | SG Fargo North | 2024 State #303 Nation ND of Fargo North (2024). Sem was thrown right into the fire playing with high major talent that is two years older than him. After some early struggles he became more comfortable and had a nice even showing that really high potential that is in his game. Physically ahead of others in the agility, explosive category with room to mature physically. Big years ahead for this young man.
