Greyson Pritzl Greyson Pritzl 6'3" | SG West Allis Central | 2022 State WI (6’4 2022 G, West Allis Central)- Greyson was the MVP of the morning, putting on an absolute shooting clinic against Milwaukee Bradley Tech. Greyson solidified his status as one of the top shooters in the state by knocking down three after three, including one from the Marquette logo at half-court, making that type of deep range look easy. He’s so skilled at getting defenders in the air with a shot fake, or passing and relocating to get into openings beyond the arc where he has a quick release to beat the closeout. Greyson showed some athleticism with a transition dunk, and also made plays creating for his teammates by getting into the paint and hitting the open man.
Chevalier Emery Jr Chevalier Emery Jr 6'1" | PG Neenah | 2022 State WI . (6’ 2022 PG, Neenah)- The best passing performance I saw all day? That would belong to Chevalier Emery Jr Chevalier Emery Jr 6'1" | PG Neenah | 2022 State WI . as he was carving up the defense to help lead Neenah to a win over West Allis Central. He’s so quick getting up and down the floor, and kept defenders on their toes as he was able to pull up to hit multiple jumpers, while also blowing right by them on multiple occasions to get two feet in the paint before elevating to finish. He showed excellent body control to absorb contact and keep his focus on finishing at the rim, which led to a handful of and-ones. Emery created for teammates in multiple ways by getting into the lane and kicking out to shooters, drawing in a help defender and then hitting his big with a scoop pass, or picking his head up and throwing deep passes up the court to hit his teammates running ahead of the defense in transition.
Kon II Knueppel Kon II Knueppel 6'6" | SG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State #15 Nation WI (6’5 2024 W, Wisconsin Lutheran)- The first immediate impression was that Kon definitely looks a bit taller than he was during the winter, and that growth gives him excellent positional size on the wing as he’s able to play/guard 2’s and 3’s with that type of length. Kon shot the ball at a ridiculous level in all three games I watched, including shooting 4-4 from three in the first half of one game, and ending the day having shot a reported 12-16 from beyond the arc over three games. His release is smooth and consistent, and it comes with the type of confidence that has you thinking every shot is going in. Kon has the IQ to score without needing to dribble, as he always moves without the ball and finds ways to get into open space from three. He also showed some passing vision as he got into the paint and was able to use his length to deliver passes over the top of his defender to set up his teammates for easy scores.
Learic Davis Learic Davis 6'7" | SF Milwaukee Bradley Tech | 2022 State WI (6’7 2022 W, Milwaukee Bradley Tech)- There were some rough moments as opposing teams really focused on taking Learic out of the game and forcing the other Tech players to beat them, but Learic was able to adjust and started to make a major impact on both ends. He was a threat in transition as he can pick up speed quickly and absolutely fly up the floor while remaining in control to weave through defenders, and he threw down a number of explosive dunks in the two games I watched. Learic’s quickness also allows him to exploit gaps in the defense as he’s able to slip through and get to the rim before defenders can shift over. Defensively he moves his feet to defend guards, and can also act as another rim protector due to his explosiveness.
Josh Terrian Josh Terrian 6'4" | SF Pewaukee | 2022 State WI (6’4 2022 W, Pewaukee)- He won’t always be the biggest scorer, but Josh plays a key role in making Pewaukee’s offense go. He’s always making smart decisions with the ball, and will pass up a good shot to get his team a great shot. Josh is always keeping the ball moving, and his passing is a big reason why Pewaukee had some of the best all-around ball movement that I’ve seen at the high school level. When looking to score he’s a tough finisher at the rim, able to absorb contact and keep his balance. He also showed a smooth jumper from three to keep defenders on their toes.
Mac Wrecke Mac Wrecke 6'5" | SG Arrowhead | 2023 State #272 Nation WI (6’5 2023 W, Arrowhead)- Mac Wrecke Mac Wrecke 6'5" | SG Arrowhead | 2023 State #272 Nation WI is simply too physical for most wings to handle at this level, and that showed as he was able to get into the paint and overpower defenders to score on Saturday. He plays physical but does a good job of avoiding charges, and that strength also allows him to finish through contact routinely. Mac looked more fluid creating off the dribble, and that allowed him to create some space to get off clean jumpers. Although the outside shot wasn’t falling in the game I watched, this shot creation ability will make him more dangerous as the jumper continues to progress. Mac also threw down two explosive dunks cutting on the baseline and elevating to finish above the rim with ease.
Nick Janowski Nick Janowski 6'3" | SG Pewaukee | 2024 State #126 Nation WI (6’3 2024 G, Pewaukee)- Another dangerous piece for Pewaukee, Nick was finding success putting the ball in the basket on Saturday. He has such a smooth and confident release from three, and that accurate shot was hitting from both three and mid-range in the games I saw. Because he’s such a shooting threat, Nick has a dangerous pump fake that commonly catches defenders off guard, meaning he can take one dribble and then pull-up into a higher percentage look. I also liked his willingness to make the extra pass to an open teammate, something shooters of his caliber don’t always do.
