Continue ReadingThe state of Indiana has had so many players receive offers to play basketball at all levels, and with the number of coaches in attendance at the Charlie Hughes Shootout, there are a number of new offers to keep up with from this weekend. As a result, I will be starting this series to highlight the new offers that are received throughout the week. Without taking any more time, let’s dive right in.
2022 Class
Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN (Central Noble)
Essegian added to his already lengthy list of mid-major offers by picking up ones from Ball State, Bowling Green, Elon, and Milwaukee-Wisconsin. With now 12 mid-major offers in hand, the only real question that remains is whether or not high-major programs will get involved with the outstanding shooting guard.
Peter Suder Peter Suder 6'5" | SG Carmel | 2022 State #227 Nation IN (Carmel)
Despite being out with an injury for the entire summer, Ball State did not miss out on the chance to offer Suder. He is a key player for Carmel, and he will make a major difference for the program when he returns for his senior season. Suder adds the Ball State offer to ones from Bellarmine, Bryant, New Orleans, Robert Morris, Toledo, and Wright State.
Britain Harris Britain Harris 6'3" | SG Bosco Institute | 2022 State IN (Don Bosco Prep)
Harris recently transferred from Marquette Catholic to Don Busco Institute, and this change in scenery may have been the necessary move to kick off his recruitment. St. Francis University in Pennsylvania jumped on board for Harris in what could be his first of many to come in this new chapter of his basketball career.
Ryan Conwell Ryan Conwell 6'2" | SG Pike | 2022 State #155 Nation IN (Pike)
After a great Top 100 workout last weekend, Indiana State became the first school to jump on board for Conwell. This weekend, he performed very well once again, and it was IUPUI’s turn to make their move to give Conwell his second offer of many more to come.
Aaron Humphrey Aaron Humphrey 6'6" | PF Indianapolis Tindley | 2022 State IN (Tindley)
Humphrey may have been the breakout performer of the weekend, and Trinity Christian became the first school to offer him a spot. Tindley went 4-0 on the weekend and Humphrey dominated the paint on both ends of the floor. He has improved in a major way, and I fully expect him to continue to generate interest.
Karson Jenkins Karson Jenkins 6'1" | PG Fort Wayne Snider | 2022 State IN (Fort Wayne Snider)
Jenkins is the top scorer for this high-powered Snider squad, and this scoring ability translated into his first two offers from St. Francis and Huntington. Jenkins should be in store for a big senior season.
Billy Smith Billy Smith 6'7" | SF Brebeuf Jesuit | 2022 State IN (Brebeuf Jesuit)
In a similar story to Conwell, Smith picked up his first offer from Miami of Ohio following an impressive Top 100 last weekend. This weekend, he looked very good and both Army and Bellarmine jumped on board for his second and third offers.
Charlie Williams Charlie Williams 6'10" | PF Carmel | 2022 State #220 Nation IN (Carmel) – IUPUI, Stetson, Central Michigan, Milwaukee-Wisconsin
Williams may be the player who has had his stock rise the most over this spring and summer. He has played extremely well for Team Teague and has stepped up for Carmel as they are without Peter Suder Peter Suder 6'5" | SG Carmel | 2022 State #227 Nation IN . With a great weekend, Central Michigan, IUPUI, Milwaukee-Wisconsin, and Stetson all gave Charlie offers. These new offers join the likes of Florida Atlantic and Youngstown State.
Will Lovings-Watts Will Lovings-Watts 6'5" | SF Jeffersonville | 2022 State IN (Jeffersonville)
Lovings-Watts is a point guard with exceptional length and court vision. The idea of a 6’5″ point guard with these abilities is extremely attractive to coaches, and that is why Lovings-Watts picked up his third overall offer with one from Drake this weekend. This offer joins ones from Bradley and Wichita State as well.
Tayshawn Comer Tayshawn Comer 6'0" | PG Cathedral | 2022 State #226 Nation IN (Indianapolis Cathedral)
Tayshawn Comer Tayshawn Comer 6'0" | PG Cathedral | 2022 State #226 Nation IN looked very good at the Top 100, and he was able to add Southern Illinois to his already lengthy list of college offers. Cathedral is going to have a lot of major college attention this year, so I would fully expect his list to continue growing.
Isaiah Davis Isaiah Davis 6'9" | PF Zionsville | 2022 State IN (Zionsville)
Davis added to his lengthy list of Division 2 offers with another one from Lee’s-McRae in Virginia. Davis is making a return to Zionsville this year, so he will have a much tougher schedule which will allow him to really showcase his abilities in the high school season.
Jaxon Edwards Jaxon Edwards 6'6" | SF Cathedral | 2022 State IN (Indianapolis Cathedral)
Edwards is another player whose athletic ability has really skyrocketed his stock in the last couple of months. He picked up offers from Indiana State and Milwaukee-Wisconsin following a good weekend of basketball. These offers join ones from Eastern Illinois, IUPUI, Miami (OH), and Northern Illinois.
Steele Brasfield Steele Brasfield 6'5" | SF New Palestine | 2022 State IN (New Palestine)
Brasfield picked up his first offer from Indiana Tech over the weekend. The 6’5″ forward scored the ball very well this weekend, and he has scored it well over the past year-plus. He should see a couple of more offers come his way in the future.
Christian Nunn Christian Nunn 6'3" | SF L'anse Creuse North | 2022 State IN (Indianapolis Attucks)
Nunn transferred to Attucks this year, and he played extremely well in their four games over the weekend. He is a player who can score at all levels, and Northwood became the first school to give him an offer. He will have a much tougher schedule this season, but he definitely has the skill to play at Division 2 or NAIA level.
Kyle Thomas Kyle Thomas 6'4" | SG Cloverdale | 2022 State IN (Cloverdale)
Thomas is a prolific scorer for Cloverdale, and he scored it well all weekend in Indianapolis. He picked up his first offer from Cedarville over the weekend, and he should see more Division 2 or NAIA offers to come his way.
2023 Class
Sam Orme Sam Orme 6'9" | SF Carmel | 2023 State #196 Nation IN (Carmel)
Orme picked up his first Division 1 offer with one from Indiana State. This joins a previous offer from NAIA, Huntington, but he should have many more coming his way in the coming year.
Myles Colvin Myles Colvin 6'5" | SG Heritage Christian | 2023 State #51 Nation IN (Heritage Christian)
Colvin picked up another high-major offer with one from Butler. This offer joins Indiana and Purdue as well as IUPUI, Miami (OH), and Tulane. Colvin is a highly skilled player who should have several more in the future.
Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN (Indianapolis Cathedral)
Booker is one of the top 2023 players in the state and he has shown that with all of the high-major offers to come his way. This week, Indiana and Notre Dame joined Iowa, IUPUI, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Ohio State, Purdue, TCU, and Tulane. Booker had an outstanding weekend, and I fully expect many more high-level offers to come his way.
Jaylen Mullen Jaylen Mullen 6'0" | PG North Daviess | 2023 State IN (North Daviess)
Mullen may have been the biggest surprise of the weekend to some coaches as he averaged nearly 30 points per game for North Daviess. He is a high-level point guard who competed with the likes of Myles Colvin Myles Colvin 6'5" | SG Heritage Christian | 2023 State #51 Nation IN and Jalen Jackson Jalen Jackson 6'2" | PG Fort Wayne Northrop | 2022 State IN as well. Oakland City became the first school to jump on board, but Mullen will have many more offers to come.
Jalen Hooks Jalen Hooks 6'6" | SF Warren Central | 2023 State #282 Nation IN (Indianapolis Attucks)
Jalen Hooks Jalen Hooks 6'6" | SF Warren Central | 2023 State #282 Nation IN is one of the top 2023’s in the state, and he added two more offers after a good Top 100 Showcase last weekend. Georgia and Wichita State joined the likes of Butler, Illinois, LSU, and Marquette among others.
