The best players in the state were on display here and a few of them were able to snag some offers here due to their great showing. Today, we a look a look at and evaluate the players that made up Team Black from session two.
Caleb Washington Caleb Washington 6'5" | PF Floyd Central | 2023 State IN – 6’5 PF 2023 Floyd Central: Washington is a big power forward with solid fundamentals. Was real aggressive on the boards and gave his team a ton of second chance opportunities. Tried to stretch the floor a little bit but his outside jumper was not really hitting when I watched. Needs to add a bit more speed and quickness but overall Washington was pretty dominant in the post.
Billy Smith Billy Smith 6'7" | SF Brebeuf Jesuit | 2022 State IN – 6’6 PF 2023 Brebeuf Jesuit: Smith is a long and lanky power forward. One thing that stood was that this guy was all over the boards on both ends. Had a block on the defensive end and for the most part looked like he could be a real solid post defender. Smith played hard every minute he was on the floor.
Jahni Summers Jahni Summers 6'5" | SG Evansville Harrison | 2022 State IN – 6’4 SG 2022 Evansville Harrison: Summer is a shooting guard with a ton of length. Real high motor and was playing all over on both ends. He was finishing well over defenders at the rim and was being a lockdown defender as well. Lot of athleticism and tools here to work with in the long term.
Ryan Caddell Ryan Caddell 6'2" | SG Evansville North | 2022 State IN – 6’2 SG 2022 Evansville North: Caddell is a taller shooting guard that can play. Great outside shooter and can work to get himself a pull-up 3. Works hard off the ball as well and can get creative a little bit trying to get a shot off. Solid day for Caddell here.
Marcus Northern Marcus Northern 6'2" | PG South Bend Washington | 2023 State IN – 6’2 PG 2023 South Bend Washington: Northern was arguably the best player on his team here. He is a lead guard that is quick and talented. Was showing off his elite ball handles and was getting real creative on his drives to the basket. Also had a couple of blocks on the defensive end that were very impressive. Lot of talent in the point guard.
Jackson Hills Jackson Hills 6'5" | PF Sullivan | 2022 State IN – 6’6 PF 2022 Sullivan: Hills is a big power forward that is real aggressive. Very defensive-minded and was real solid on that end. Not a ton of offense here but has the legit size to be an offensive rebounding guy.
Christian Nunn Christian Nunn 6'3" | SF L'anse Creuse North | 2022 State IN – 6’4 SF 2022 Crispus Attucks: Nunn is a taller wing that is sharp with everything he does. Strong frame and crashes the glass hard. Played more around the outside on the offense and looks to be a guy that has the ability to get hot. Good showing here by Nunn and looks like there is some potential that has yet to be unleased.
Travis Grayson Travis Grayson 5'10" | PG Chesterton | 2022 State IN – 5’10 PG 2022 Chesterton: Grayson is a shorter lead guard that can push the tempo. Good hands on the defense and even had a steal that resulted in a fastbreak score. Best play I saw from him was when he was in transition and faked a pass and scored around the defender. Has the ability to make those long jumpers too. Really good day Grayson had here.
