Grant Hastings 6’4″ Oakville: A 2022 forward who had a very productive two games because he is solid in several facets of the game. He scores well inside with a variety of moves and good footwork. He uses his fakes well and he can score with both hands. He moves well without the ball on cuts and can step out and knock down perimeter jumpers.
Jack Ruess 6’4″ Festus: A physical 2022 forward at about 220-pounds who is also a excellent football prospect as a tight end. He brings that physicality to the basketball court, but he can also mix in a little finesse. He made a play when he stole the ball and dribbled the length of the court with a nice wrap-around dribble at midcourt on his way to the layup. He finishes well inside and he can pass the ball.
Andrew Starkey 6’5″ Fredericktown: A very skilled 2023 wing player who has excellent size on the perimeter. He is the team’s primary ball handler and playmaker and he handles the responsibility well. He can shoot it from 3-point range while also being able to create off the bounce to get a bucket at all three levels.
Allen Grahovic 5’10” Seckman: A talented 2023 combo guard who has poise and a nice feel for the game to go along with his excellent skills. He is a smooth perimeter shooter who moves well to the open spots and can also knock down the transition 3-pointers. It was my first time seeing him and I left with a very positive impression with what I saw.
Andrew Jackson 6’3″ Confluence: A burly 2022 power forward who plays the blue-collar role for a talented CPA team and he did it quite well on Wednesday night. He used his body and strength to his advantage inside as he corralled offensive rebounds for putbacks and finished off of dump downs from dribble penetration. He’s a very productive player with limited touches because of his activity and hustle.
