Here are some of the top scorers at the GRMC 16U tournament (in alphabetical order):
Ali Booker, 5-foot-9 guard, Illinois Hoopville Warriors, Bogan HS:
Booker is a dynamic scoring point guard. One of the best ball handlers at the tournament, he can take nearly any defender off the dribble at any time. He’s willing to kick the ball to an open shooter, but when he gets a crack, he’s more than likely going to finish at the hole. Booker is also a consistently good shooter from the perimeter, so defenders are forced to play up on him.
Devin Conley Devin Conley 6'1" | PG Pembroke Hill | 2023 State MO , 6-foot-2 guard, Mentality Gold, Pembroke Hill HS (pictured):
Conley showed off one of the most dynamic scoring packages at Kansas City. With his long, slender frame, he can slice through the lane and get to the bucket. But he’s also got the power to get through contact and to body up defenders. He’s got jets in the open court and he can bust through a defense before they can get back. He also showed he can knock down the 3-pointer.
Levi Harden, 6-foot-3 forward, Wichita Padres, Maize South HS:
Harden hit 3-pointers at a high rate in Kansas City. He’s got the length to get the shot off, and the athleticism to get open. He’s also dangerous on the drive. Making his offensive game even more potent is his ability to rebound and push the ball up the floor, and also to create turnovers which he also pushes up court.
Javaris Moye Javaris Moye 6'4" | SG Kirkwood | 2023 State MO , 6-foot-4 guard, Gateway Knights, Kirkwood HS:
One of the most impressive players at the Grind Region Memorial Classic, Moye can really do it all. He’s a great ball handler for a man his size, and he’s silky smooth on the drive. But don’t question his competitiveness. He’s a fiery competitor who attacks the basket with intensity, but drops jumpers and 3-pointers with calm accuracy. He’s so long for a ball handler, he’s tough to guard, and he’s athletic enough to get through, and rise above, the crowd.
Keaton Stone Keaton Stone 6'5" | SF Maryville | 2023 State MO , 6-foot-3 forward, Arkansas Rising Stars, White Hall HS:
One of the most consistent scorers at KC, Stone can rack up points in a variety of ways. Perhaps his number one talent is his ability to penetrate and pull up for open jumpers. His height and spring help him get the shot off, but he seems to have a knack for getting to open spots. Stone has great fundamentals, which he combines with the quickness and length to get to the rim. Stone is a really fun scorer to watch.
