Charlie Dortch Charlie Dortch 6'7" | PF L'anse Creuse North | 2023 State CO | 6’7″ JR. | Center | Rocky Mountain High School
Dortch is the games modern version of a center. He can back defenders down into the post or take them off the dribble from the midrange area. While he won’t blow by you off the dribble he is versatile enough to put the ball on the floor and muscle you into a spot where he can score. He can finish with the left or right hand and has really nice footwork for plyer of his size. He was consistently one of his teams leading scores and one of the reasons they were in every game. He has the body frame to add muscle and with work on his midrange game and free throws I could definitely see him playing at the next level. He is only heading into his junior year of high school ball so I’m excited to see his development.
Kevin Bedford | 6’7″ SR. | Center | Centaurus High School
I liken Bedford’s game to Rudy Gobert. He is a defensive presence on the floor. He blocked and forced tough shots in every game this weekend. In addition he led his team in rebounds on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. He has good footwork that enables him to read and react to players which gives him the ability to block shots so well. With Bedford in the middle his team can play tighter defense and not worry about getting beat since the big man is there to protect the paint. He also contributed on the offensive end of the floor and was the second leading scorer for his team in almost every game. With his size and frame he has the ability to add muscle and with some work could develop a nice midrange game. I expect Bedford to have a very nice senior season and with some development could easily play at the next level.
Alex Tongren | 6’6″ SR. | Center | Ponderosa High School
Tongren is very versatile player with nice footwork. He can score in the post, from midrange, or even knock down the three ball from way downtown! He was his teams leading scorer all weekend and was very reliable and someone you could tell his team turned to when the needed to make something happen. Tongren also plays both ends of the floor and has a good feel for how to use his body on the defensive end of the floor. He is also a player who has the body frame to add muscle and with a little bit of work in the weight room I expect he will have a monster senior year. Remember the name, you heard it hear first, this kid has nice potential to play at the next level!
Campbell Packebush | 6’6″ SR. | Center | Chatfield
Packebush is a very physical presence on the floor for his team. As I have said with some of the other centers the need to pack on some muscle but with Packebusch already has the frame of a next level player. With a little time in the gym working on his outside midrange game Packebusch could easily be a dominate, next level player. He has nice footwork inside, can rebound the ball, and is definitely and intimidator in the middle for his team. He will give you everything he has when he is out on the floor and has a high ceiling. I’m looking forward to watching his growth and his senior season!
Kyle Blauch | 6’6″ Sophomore | Center | Boulder High School
Blauch is the youngest player in this weekends group of centers but he has a very nice game and the ability to really develop into a next level talent. Blauch is physical presence inside for his team. He has nice footwork and a good awareness of where he is at in relation to the basket as he is wheeling and dealing on the interior. He rebounds the ball on both ends of the floor and affected a number of shots of opposing teams. Blauch needs to continue to mold his body and with his size could easily do so and develop the midrange game that will separate him from the pack. Again, only heading into his Sophmore year, so don’t be surprised if you hear Blauch mentioned in the future as he has great potential to develop into a next level talent. I’m excited to watch his growth and development over the next few years!
