QUINTON PARTEE JR QUINTON PARTEE JR 6'3" | SG ROSWELL | 2022 GA , 6-3, SG/SF, T.R.U. Elite, 2022 (pictured above, Roswell)
Nearly carried TRU to the 17U title on his back, has been having a breakout spring sure to continue into the June team camps and July AAU topper, we featured him in our team visit roundup, continued to get downhill over the weekend with both grace and force on his way to games of 24, 25, and 16 points that I saw, just eats up buckets around the basket and works as hard as any 6-3 guard often having to play forward that I’ve seen, next-level programs looking for a guy that will play wherever you ask him to and give you production night in and night out need to focus in here.
Chandler McDade, 5-11, PG (2023, Pope) & Will Simonson, 5-11, PG (2022, Roswell), both T.R.U. Elite
Both also were featured in our team visit, played a ton together this past weekend and it made for a versatile package out front, both showed me a ton in live-action vs practice with both their guts and skill, McDade is a 2023 who’s going to open a ton of eyes as he likely takes over the point at Pope and was tremendous particularly from 3 with some big shot-making and poised play, Simonson too could have himself a coming out party of a season next winter as he had a 25-point game and would make my All-Grit team any day of the week, both shoot it, push it, drive it and move the ball as lead guards extremely well.
Jhykevyon Dozier, 6-2, CG, Prime Time Elite, 2024 (Central-Talbatton)
Out of the Columbus-GA area, put on one of the better all-around shows of the weekend and looked controlled and poised both with the ball and without, can score it from multiple levels with a nice touch on the jumper, handled it as a point man and can easily make a future there, a terrific, heady passer and one of the weekend’s best in that category, played off the wing with a solid frame and nice bevy of creative moves, rebounded really well often playing several positions in the same game, a good-looking young prospect with a ton of skill and room to hone it.
Carter Pengelly, 6-2, SG, North Metro Elite White, 2023 (East Paulding)
First chance of the summer to really dig in with NME White and it was really impressive,
Pengelly dazzled and really threw himself onto my radar as someone to watch with a set of versatile skills that covered both ends of the floor, hard-worker backed up by athletic skill as an attacker, the motor makes him seem like he’s everywhere and most of the time that’s true as he goes to the boards, defends multiple spots and really gets tot he rack in transition, the clever creation in the halfcourt shows off the scoring IQ, many eyes will fall here as he likely moves into a feature role for EPHS next winter.
Sam Erritt, 5-10, PG, North Metro Elite White, 2023 (North Paulding)
A serious marksman from 3 and excellent lead guard who combined those two items to make him stand out among PG’s, like all of NME White he plays at a pace and energy-level that is notable, confident with ball and a sound decision-maker, combined with another deadeye shooter in SG Dylan Nobis (Woodstock) for some knockdown 3-point bombing in their win over Milton Spurs MJ Sunday.
Charlie Kane, 5-10, PG, Inspire ATL, 2024 (Grady)
Perhaps no one brought more oohs and aahs from both my lips as well as those seated around me than the performance of Kane against Elite Playmakers Gray Sunday, coming from nowhere is a player I found out is in his first organized season of ball yet showed off the kind of game you normally see from kids who picked one up at 4 or 5 years old, his hustle was endless but his natural burst with the ball was even more impressive, his vision as a passer and floor leader was elite, he sliced up defenses from everywhere with his crafty left-handed dribble and sly creativity, he drove it hard through traffic and didn’t shy away from tough contact, just superb recognition all over the floor as he knocked down 3-balls as well on his way to a 25-point output that had me thinking this is a potential diamond in the rough in the making over in Midtown-ATL.
Jermaine Hines, 6-1, SG, Elite Playmakers Gray, 2024 (New Manchester)
Part of an exciting young nucleus set to emerge down in Douglas County, has an advanced understanding of the art of scoring, finds gaps for a sweet mid-range game that refreshingly doesn’t see the need to force it into traffic, among the better-looking jump shots from a technical perspective I’ve seen, smooth athlete and high IQ at both ends, flat-out impressive and has a chance to be special.
Sebastian Tidor Sebastian Tidor 6'5" | SF East Paulding | 2022 State GA , 6-4, SG, NGU, 2022 (East Paulding)
Playing on loan with NGU for the weekend he was nonetheless a man among boys virtually every time he touched it, powerful and fleet-afoot getting up the floor once he gets that head of steam he is a lot to deal with, love the variety as he gets into the paint as he can score with either hand and muscles past people, rebounds like he’s 6-8 with serious vertical, just so athletically-gifted it can appear he’s not working but he was ahead of most of his peers on the weekend and showed off some of the versatility that has the chance with a big senior season to get him some low to even mid-major D1 looks.
