Jadin Dombrowski (6’2 2022 G, Racine Horlick)- Jadin has been a pleasant surprise this June, as the lanky wing has been showcasing his sharpshooting ability from beyond the arc. In a tough game against Kenosha St. Joseph, Jadin put up 23 points while scoring the ball at all three levels. He knocked down some deep threes, hit two fadeaway jumpers off one foot from the baseline, and even got to the rim for a couple of tough finishes. Jadin isn’t the quickest player but makes up for it with a strong basketball IQ, and he was able to catch his man sleeping to cut backdoor on multiple occasions. I was also impressed with a couple of the passes he made, threading the needle to find a cutting teammate towards the rim.
Terryon Brumby Terryon Brumby 6'0" | PG Racine Case | 2022 State WI (6’ 2022 G, Racine Case)- Late in the second half, Terryon began to take over and showed why he has over 800 career points (likely would be 1,000 if Case played a full season last winter) by getting buckets in a number of ways. If you let him attack downhill, he’s simply too quick and too physical to stop, as he can run right through contact and finish at a high rate around the rim. He can take off from halfcourt with a quick burst to get through multiple defenders, but has also shown an improved jumper to stretch the defense. On the other end he has great hands to strip opposing ball handlers, and his quickness allows him to be an on-ball pest.
Andrew Alia Andrew Alia 6'2" | SG Kenosha St. Joseph | 2022 State WI (6’3 2022 G, Kenosha St. Joseph)- Really liked some of the versatility that Andrew Alia Andrew Alia 6'2" | SG Kenosha St. Joseph | 2022 State WI showed against Racine Horlick. Andrew has a physical frame as a guard, and also looked more explosive as evident by the transition dunk he threw down with authority. He’s a player who can score at all three levels as a 2, but can also handle the ball and distribute as a 1. Andrew knocked down some catch-and-shoot threes, got to his spots off the dribble to knock down some mid-range jumpers, and attacked the baseline aggressively to either finish in traffic or dish it off to a flashing big in the lane. Defensively he proved he can move his feet with smaller players, but also spent time defending in the post as he’s one of his team’s tallest players.
Nacir Beamon Nacir Beamon 6'2" | SG Nicolet | 2024 State WI (6’2 2024 G, Martin Luther)- The physicality that Nas brings to the floor is just unmatched by other underclassmen, and often unmatched by upperclassmen as well. Against Whitnall he got to the rim whenever he wanted to, and is almost automatic when going up to finish within five feet with either hand. Nas knows that not many people can stop him from getting into the paint, so that’s where he spent the majority of his offensive touches, and that led to a lot of buckets in a win. On the defensive end he can move his feet to quickly cut off his man, and doesn’t give up an inch of space when teams try to play physical with him. He proved why he’s one of the top underclassmen prospects in Wisconsin.
Darrien Long Darrien Long 6'5" | PF Racine Horlick | 2022 State WI (6’4 2022 F, Racine Horlick)- Though he’s become most known for his explosive dunks, Darrien showed he can do more than just dunk as he started off the game shooting 3-3 from beyond the arc, showing no hesitancy when letting it fly from deep. Those threes were followed by an and-one finish, and one of the most powerful one hand dunks you’ll see all year after a strong cut to the rim. Perhaps most impressive? Darrien’s ability to consistently take away would be baskets at the rim with his shot blocking ability. When it comes to rim protectors under 6’6, Darrien may just be the best in the state as his quickness to move into position and then elevation led to at least six blocked shots in just one running clock game.
Adrian Bryant (6’1 2022 G, Racine Case)- Fresh off a strong first season with Racine Case as a junior, Adrian continues to contribute at a high level for the Eagles. Adrian is a lightning quick guard, who like his backcourt mate Terryon Brumby Terryon Brumby 6'0" | PG Racine Case | 2022 State WI , can find a lot of success slashing to the rim. Adrian looked improved creating his own shot off the dribble, and that led to a pair of three point makes as he utilizes a quick crossover to create separation for his release. On the defensive end he brings some intensity to the floor, and isn’t afraid to contest shots around the rim. He uses his quickness to jump passing lanes and start the break going the other way for easy buckets.
Caiden Lecce Caiden Lecce 6'0" | CG Minneapolis Southwest | 2022 State WI (6’ 2022 PG, Kenosha St. Joseph)- Caiden continued his strong spring/summer of play in two games on Monday night. There’s a lot to like about how Caiden runs the show, as he’s so shifty off the dribble and you can always see him scanning the floor with his eyes up trying to find the open man. He creates so many open looks for his team by drawing in help defenders, and he’s extremely unselfish with his facilitating of the ball. When looking to score he’s a tough finisher at the rim who can also knock down pull-up jumpers. Time after time he creates turnovers with his tight on-ball defense, and then his speed allows him to take it the other way for a quick two points.
