He does a nice job of scoring when his team needs him to but overall he looks to get his teammates involved first. One of the stronger Guards that we saw, his strength allows him to defend bigger players even when they attempted to post him up on the block.
Kinston Guard Tyquez Drake: Whenever his team was going through a scoring drought, it seemed as if he was the one to step up and provide some scoring to get the squad on track. He’s a quick guard that can beat defenders off the dribble as well as knocking down the trey ball. Small Colleges that may be looking for a Guard, will want to keep an eye on this young man.
New Life Christian Guard Darrion Young: Running the show at the PG spot for the most part, he’s continuing to progress with his decision making on the court. He got into the gaps of the defense and made some good reads/passes but also provided some scoring when his team needed it.
White Oak HS Guard Andrew Navarro: Another Guard that shot the ball very well from the perimeter, he knocked down shots from beyond the three point line and provides some senior leadership for a young squad. His passing ability was impressive as well as the effort that he gave on the defensive side of the ball.
New Hanover HS Guard James Jones: His stock should be on the rise after putting together some outstanding performances throughout the event. He shot the ball from the perimeter at a very high level, has the height for a college SG at about 6’4 and can make plays above the rim when needed.
