Favour Aire Favour Aire 6'10" | C Bishop McNamara | 2022 State #86 Nation MD | 6’10 | Bishop McNamara
Aire’s team had the obvious size advantage in their first game of the day against Saint James. The 6-foot-10 center wasn’t shy in making his presence known inside at both ends, sporting a stat line of 22 points and 18 rebounds (8 offensive). He didn’t record any blocks, but altered a handful of attempts at the rim and was a determined rim runner in transition. Aire also did a fantastic job in his stints guarding the ball out on the perimeter. He’s above average in that area for his position.
Tyrell Ward Tyrell Ward 6'7" | SF DeMatha | 2022 State #56 Nation MD | 6’7 | DeMatha
Ward played one of the best games I’ve seen him play as he converted on a number of tough shots from the perimeter and mid-range. His size and lift on his jumper helped avoid the defender’s contested hand and he got his shot off with great fluidity. In the win over St. Stephen’s St. Agnes, Ward scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field and 5-of-8 from deep.
Jerrell Roberson Jerrell Roberson 6'8" | C DeMatha | 2022 State MD | 6’8 | DeMatha
Roberson continues to grow on me the more that I see him. He was impressive in multiple ways against SSSA and mixed it up offensively. Roberson was aggressive in the dunker’s spot where he feasted off penetrations dump off passes from guards and finished with powerful dunks whether a defender was in his way or not. He stepped outside and nailed his only three-point attempt of the game while making other smart basketball plays that won’t show up in the box score.
Devin Ceaser Devin Ceaser 6'1" | CG St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2022 State VA | 6’1 | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Ceaser was extremely aggressive as a scorer in their loss to DeMatha, but he had to be in order to get them back into the game. The 6-foot-1 lead guard scored 25 points, dished out three assists and grabbed three boards in the effort. His athletic finishes around the rim continue to catch the attention of coaches from various Division I levels.
Elliot Black | 6’6 | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Black has been a steady contributor throughout the DMV Live sessions and was again in the game against DeMatha. The 6-foot-6 tough-nosed forward scored 23 points on an uber efficient 9-of-10 shooting from the field. He grabbed 11 rebounds, five of which were the offensive variety. Black’s motor and willingness to making winning plays have become impossible to ignore.
Michael Moore | 6’9 | National Christian
With Moore transferring from Spire to National Christian, he becomes hands down the state’s top shot-blocker. He recorded six blocked shots today against Georgetown Prep while altering another handful that resulted in misses. His presence, instincts and length around the rim make any player think twice when they look to make any sort of play at the basket.
Amare Johnson | 6’4 | National Christian
Johnson has one of the most unique looking shots you’ll come across, but it was falling today against Georgetown Prep. He led the way for National Christian with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field and made five of his seven attempted three’s, all of which was done in just 15 minutes of play.
Deon Perry Deon Perry 5'8" | PG Mt. Carmel | 2022 State MD | 5’8 | Mt. Carmel
Perry came into the night as the leading scorer of the event dating back to last week at a ridiculous 33.7 points per game. Everyone including college coaches and opposing teams were well aware of the tear he was on. Good Counsel did all they could to contain him, but Perry still finished with 23 points and buried a handful of triples as Mount Carmel escaped with a four-point win. It wasn’t as explosive as a scoring outing as he’s made us used to, but he still made sound reads out of ball screens, made the right pass on penetration and was gritty on the defensive end.
