Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ , Jefferson
Cook put together one of the best games of the season that we’ve seen out of the sophomore. The 6-foot-7 swingman didn’t just settle for threes but effectively used his length and athleticism on drives to the hoop and also flashed some sweet looking pull-up jumpers. He dominated the boards, was intimidating on defense, and got out in transition.
Lamar Washington Lamar Washington 6'4" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State #128 Nation AZ , Jefferson
All-around game for Washington as not only did he score (22 points) but also hit the boards (10 rebounds) and found open teammates for scores (6 assists). If didn’t score immediately off of his drives to the hoop, he was often first to get the rebound and put it back in. Washington needs 30 points on Thursday to become one of the few in Oregon history to average 30 points per game in a season.
Ryan Lewis Ryan Lewis 6'4" | SG Clackamas | 2021 State OR , Clackamas
It takes more than just height and bulk to be a good rebounder and Lewis proves that. His motor, athletic ability, and flat out willingness to go in and get the ball is what makes the 6-foot-2 senior a big time factor on the boards. He simply willed himself to a number of big rebounds for the Cavaliers and also converted some tough drives to finish with a hard-earned 13-point, 13-rebound double-double in their win over Jesuit.
Jackson Jaha Jackson Jaha 6'1" | SG Clackamas | 2022 State OR , Clackamas
His college future will be in baseball – Jaha has already committed to the University of Oregon – but the muscular guard can definitely hoop it up as well. Jaha was money from beyond the three-point line, hitting three threes, but also used his physicality to get to the cup and finish some tough points in the lane. A junior, Jaha has complimented the Cavs senior-dominated lineup well.
James Lang James Lang 6'0" | CG Jesuit | 2021 State OR , Jesuit
Lang is a certified bucket. Against Clackamas he was constantly on the move, attacking the hoop, scoring at the basket or converting floaters. Lang has mastered drawing contact and getting the foul call and was able to convert a couple of traditional and-ones as well. In the past he’s had more catch-and-shoot opportunities but as the team’s primary ball-handler, most of his points were off the dribble. He put everything out on the floor but Clackamas won out in OT.
