We will be recapping the event breaking down top performers from each class. Here is Cream City Collision: Illinois 2024 Standouts!
Clark Easley (Big 3)
We came away intrigued with this 6’6” Schaumburg power forward. Long and lean post that was a rim protector. Showed nice instincts on the defensive end. Offensive game is a work in progress.
Camden Lathos (Big 3)
Lathos is a 6’4” underside four with broad shoulders. He finished well around the hoop on quick dishes and had sound footwork on spin moves. Upside will depend on how much he grows.
Jonathan Calmese (Big 3)
Calmese is a slippery combo guard that flashed decent passing feel and was nice in transition surveying the defense deciding to dish or get to the paint for a floater.
JJ Hernandez JJ Hernandez 6'6" | PF Glenbard North | 2024 State IL (Swish Basketball Chicago)
Hernandez was coming off an injury at this event. The Glenbard North wing has a lot of intriguing tools with his size, length, athleticism, and skill combination. Struggled to find the touch on the jumper and at the line. Did manage to do damage in transition and with quick moves off the bounce from the mid-post area.
Richard Lindsey (Swish Basketball Chicago)
Lindsey caught our attention a few weeks back in Indy. The Simeon shooting guard with a scorer that has a clean looking mid-range shot and got to the line at a good clip.
Tim Handy (Swish Basketball Chicago)
Handy had a breakout event because of what he brought on the defensive end. The De La Salle 6’2” shooting guard was a force with his length, anticipation, and tenacity on that end. Multiple blocks and steals in the games we saw including swatting a pair of threes.
Reeise Remmer (Swish Basketball Chicago)
Remmer is a 6’4” wing from Latin that played with a high activity level. Rebounded very well with his energy on the offensive boards and has a decent mid-range game.
Payton Kamin Payton Kamin 6'7" | SF Worcester Academy | 2025 State NLG (Team Ten Jabari Parker)
Kamin is a lengthy wing scorer from DePaul Prep. The rising sophomore is at his best off the catch with his ability to knock down shots. Mixed in a couple drives in the games we saw.
Sean Brown-Coley Sean Brown-Coley 6'0" | SF Whitney Young | 2024 State IL (Team Ten Jabari Parker)
The Whitney Young big bodied shooting guard played as an undersized post with their two big men out. He fought hard on the glass doing a nice job of rebounding against taller opponents.
